I'm planning to foster and hopefully fully adopt a 3 year old black lab. She's been described as having all kinds of anxiety.... I've dealt with this before with my rescued shepherd with great success, thanks so mich for these tips! It's such a good refresher and hopefully I'll be able to help this beautiful young lady.

Our 2nd Lab is now 12 months old. Up until he was 6 months old he was fine being left alone, then my son his wife and 2 kids came to stay for a fortnight. After they left he changed into a different dog, he would chew everything, dig holes and basically destroy everything in sight. He is also the first male we’ve had and it’s like we’ve never owned a dog before .

I know that most people can't do this but when I got my Lab I took three months off work. That gave me the luxury of teaching my Lab to slowly learn being home alone and he never destroyed a thing in my home.

Me too, he has the run of the house except bathrooms he can see out of the window and he’ll snooze on his part of the sofa I’m not allowed on his part and he’s not allowed in mine or another place he chooses. He had a lot of change in early life before us. He gets a pat on the head before I leave he’s calm & understands.

Yep mine has had 2 tplo surgeries and he is 2 years old & now has separation anxiety even tho I live in a tiny house 11x32..he's in a small area ..and a big labrador...hopefully I can teach him positive alone time..never had this with my 2 past labs..so stressful..now I need to fix what I've messed up with this one

I inherited my mothers 8 yr old Chocolate Lab. Sweet and calm until I leave for work. On camera she’s shredding everything including the plastic pan in the kennel. She rubbing her nose raw and broken her teeth. What can I do? The vet recommended meds and it only helps for a few hours. She opens doors and tears off door knobs. So we are crate training and she’s miserable.

I just rescued a 6 month old with severe separation anxiety. Over the past month I have hired dog sitter, when I left him in crate a little while at a time he was fine as long as he can see a human, then I was gone over an hour and he pooped in it, tore up his bed, he has a melt down if he can’t see a human. HELP, I’m the 4th owner and will not give up on him. Thank you

I don't have a dog yet, but I want to have one. I don't see myself to not let the dog stay on the sofa with me and ignoring him. I will love him like my child. So when this loving moments and cuddles are good and appropriate for the dog to have?

How long is acceptable for a puppy/dog to be left in their crate when leaving the house please?

How we explain this for the childrens, because I understand this, but can I train my 4 years old child to not jump on the dog because she would be so happy to see the dog?
