I just did my first successful flip turn today! I followed the tips on this channel. I’m making some mistakes (like flapping my arms a bit to ensure a full rotation), so it’s not perfect. I have to trust that I have the momentum to make a full rotation. How much does core strength matter for a successful flip turn?
@sophiabomba31911 ай бұрын
It makes it wayy easier to actually flip at the wall, especially if you are not super fast. If you are not coming into the wall super fast, you have to get that momentum somewhere, and that is in core strength!
@tinaspriv18 күн бұрын
I really hope people see this comment, I swim and have had coaching too and now I am an experienced swimmer at the age of 12, and I know how to do a swimming flip ! It looked a little hard at first, but all you need is someone to be there with you. So you just stand in the swimming pool (the shallow side of the pool) and have someone to be there with you and then while you stand in the water keep your arms up just gently touching the roof of the water and then bring your arms down ( like push the through water by curling your arms that are going inside the water and bringing them toward you ) while standing. The moment you're about to bring your arms toward you try and put the force in your head and bring your head into the water bending over your stomach and let the person standing beside you help in pushing you on your back so you flip and turn ( It won't come out perfect the first few times because your energy might get drained out and you might not be able to complete a full flip turn the first few times ). You do get some water up your nose and some energy drained out, but it starts to get easier once you practice ! It really isn't that hard it's actually quite easy. Once you're confident enough, try it out yourself in the deep side of the pool because you might get injured in the shallow side. Just keep your arms on the roof of the pool water curl them toward you ( arms going in the water and curling them bringing them toward you inside the water ) and put your head into the water with a lot of force and turn your back bending over your stomach with the same amount of force bringing your legs up causing you to flip turn. It won't happen immediately, But if you follow my instructions you should get it in about 8-9 tries. Just put a lot of force ( Don't put too much force or else you will get drained out and dizzy, put more energy into it {You can practice freestyles, and once you get faster at them you will be able to get more stamina and energy needed} and be calm ), energy, balance and be calm. I got mine in two days so it's not hard if you try to. Hope this helps ! I would also appreciate a like because this took me a lot of time to write. Hope you try it out ! @ShadowMonsteRRRR

I don’t know how to dolphin kick. Im fairly new to swimming and I want to start adding flip turns into my regular lap swimming. I definitely don’t have the form right yet, but I’m working to correct it as much as possible(I’ve been working on it a little for about 3 days. Some struggles I’ve run into is feeling like I don’t have enough air to do repetitive flip turns without stopping and resting in between laps, I’ve struggled to gage the distance from the wall accurately, and I can’t dolphin kick lol, so I’m kinda wondering if dolphin kicking is suppose to take time to learn because it’s such an awkward movement for me. I figure though, most of these problems will be resolved through regular swim training, correcting my flip turn technique, and consistently practicing it.
