In this video I discuss 3 steps I take to help manage bipolar cyclothymia. These 3 things have helped me massively and I hope they can help you also if you are struggling with mental health issues such as depression or bipolar. If you find it useful please leave me some feedback
Peace and Love
Welcome to my channel Lifting out of the Lows where I share and document my experience with mental health and depression. I hope from sharing these videos and my experiences I'm able to help people along their own journey and make it somewhat easier (if that's possible) as I talk about things such as:
How to stop feeling depressed
My experience with mental health
How to stop feeling anxious
How to improve your mental health
My journey through life
How to take action
How to be happier in life
I haven't got it all figured out, far from it. We're all on a journey that one never stops learning from but by creating these videos my aim is to help people and start more of a conversation around mental health. If you like the videos like, share and all the rest as the louder the message I'm sure the more people will benefit

I suffer from Cyclothymia. And, when I have a low mood, usually, I write with my left arm. I kind of feel more liberated. It feels as if the pressure dissipates. Perhaps, it makes my right hemisphere of the brain regulate or it distracts it from the mood swings. It's quite a challenge. I invite you to try it.

Doctor diagnosed me cyclothymia instead of bipolar 2. Unfortunately, I have almost no concrete information about cyclothymia in Korea(I'm Korean) since most of bipolar patients are type 1 or 2. Sadly, Korea Society for Affective disorders omitted cyclothymia from bipolar disorder type nor sorted to depression. It's tricky to deal with cyclothymia in here since psychiatrists don't have many experience about this and confuse how to manage this with drugs. I suffered from bipolar disorder for 7 years, first diagnosed me "bipolar disorder" having no idea what type was it, during middle of the period, I was doubting whether I was bipolar or not since I almost have no hypomania(my doctor was confused too), later after taking overdosing drugs and rehabilitating from those, I found out my symptom was cyclothymia.

Great video! I was diagnosed few months ago (after years of diagnosed anxiety disorder). Tbh for me are my hypomania symptoms more destructive than depression ones. Maybe Its because I’ve been working on my anxiety since I was 14. I do drink alcohol (mostly wine) just to calm me down to fall asleep, same with sugar. I dont know why, but when I am hypomanic I fall asleep after a cookie 🤷‍♀️. My Friends are the key for me. They watch me over and take care of me not going out (I tend to get in trouble and seek one night stands). My most important No no are dr*gs of Any kind. We*d destroyed me completely for a week. Major panic attacks, suic*dal thoughts for days. After that 4 days of hypomania… nothing I want to experience again. Good luck on your journey and stay ok 💪

Thanks for the comment much appreciated. Interesting how our experiences are so different. My depressive episodes are what really trouble me as I've said in the videos. Have you ever tried to cut out sugar? I find it fascinating that you fall asleep after a cookie when hypomanic. I find a bit of smoke calms my mind down but I have to manage it very carefully, literally a couple of puffs and thats it. Anymore can send me into a deep rabbit hole of negative thinking which can escalate into anxiety etc. Good luck with your journey also. Peace and love

@@liftingoutofthelows1341 with sugar - I havent tried to cut that out yet. Now I think I could try it. And i havent tried to smoke during episode and I do not plan tbh 🤷‍♀️. I am to scared.

If you ever try cutting out sugar let me know how’s it goes. As for the smoking probably best not to risk it if you think it’s no good :)

@@liftingoutofthelows1341 I remembered about letting you know about cutting out sugar. Its been a month and it made no difference (or I dont see that). I had a really bad episode of anxiety and I was so deep my mum called to a doctor if she should give me antidepressants he prescipted for the worst ones. He said she sould but she needs to be prepare for huge hypomania switch. So I took the pills and that almost six says of an episode. What a crazy week. My roommate actually gave me a sweets violantly to get me to sleep after a two days of sleeping just one hour a day. I felt asleep as usual for almost 16 hours. I am still shocked.

Hi, do you have more tips to help manage bipolar cyclothymia since last year ? I will start just by stoping eating sugar, I got diagnosticated with bipolar cyclothymia 1 year ago and since then I cannot find like a way of not having this episodes where I just can't handle it, I realize alcohol was a big problem , after I drink tequila for example I felt like so down the next two days. So if u have more tips I would love to hear it! Thank you

Focus on eating well as mentioned, make sure you have a consistent routine. You can use affirmations. In your affirmations you can say such things as: I have a stable mind Even on days where I feel depressed I push through because I have an exceptional amount of resilience Train. I would suggest resistance training but you can do anything that gets your heart pumping I hope this helps. You've got this!

im sure i have this, and i figured out that coffee is too very bad for me, it sends me into high state every time, even more than alcohol or sugar, so i stay away from it
