I like all your videos. They hit on many of my problem areas, and I like to be able to review over and over again. The highlight for me is how you pointed out that Viennese is a linear dance. Thank you!

Very helpful hints. I knew 2 of them (linear dance and the I go you go principle) but was unaware of number 3 the flat foot. Thank you

Hello from New York!! Your videos are so helpful and informative and explain concepts so clearly and methodically. I really learn so much from you. Thank you for all the work you put in to them. This is the best lesson on the VW I have seen!

The three tips are very helpful. So we need to drag the right foot in reverse turn, and we should drag the left foot in natural turn, too. This is the type of video or lessons that I am interested in. Maybe one day you can talk about a specific figure or a combination, break it down and then put it together again.

Hello! Yes drag to close on both occasions. I go into depth with all dances and so many different figures and combinations in all dances here if you're interested: www.ballroommastery.tv/offers/8rD7va3w/checkout

Thank you for your expert teaching, breaking steps down easily and using illustrations. marvelous to learn from. I am upgrading my dancing and many of dance instructional videos, are lacking in your expertise or are dressed so sleazily that are not worth viewing.

…they are the exact same. They are interchangeable. The Natural turn and reverse turn are for both man and lady.

Please state the reason for the "Viennese Cross"
@BallroomMasteryTV4 жыл бұрын
It is written so in the technique book. As to the why; I would say it is due to the hold and position of the lady a cross is easier to maintain body contact and position than to close as in the natural turn. But happy to be corrected.

Hi. I'm an experienced dancer. In ireland we have a dance which is a slower version of VW, at about 55 BarsPM. ( the irish old-time waltz) It's a traditional dance and doesn't have a Viennese cross. Having danced both dances for decades, even competitively, I can confirm that it's much easier and more natural to dance the reverses with the viennese cross. Actually, I sometimes wonder why the viennese cross isn't used for the slow waltz ! Love your channel by the way
