Dance Time app is free and a lot of fun to play with, you can play with words to help as well. You can say one, drift, drift so your waltz doesn’t become mechanical. Slow quick quick, andslow quick quick for foxtrot etc. I can see your body moving to the time between the beat as you count the beat. Great video.

Peter Beyer thanks for the tip! That’s awesome, keeping time is one of the trickiest things to do when mastering dance.

@@BallroomMasteryTV will do. I went to an intermediate Quickstep class last night and they counted us in on beat 8 man using his left foot. They said this was the preparation step. I couldn't work out when they started the count. I mean sometimes we were half way through the song. Just an idea for your next counting video.

Hey, Vaughn. Can you please make a video on how to hear the beats in the Cha cha/ Rumba. I seem to have the problem of finding/hearing count 1 in the middle of a song. When it's the beginning of a song, i start counting and there are no problems. However if i stop counting for a couple of seconds and then try to find count 1 again, it's difficult. Thanks and keep up the good work :)
