I have 3 of those drillmaster cheapo's . I use them installing fans, cabinets, doors and windows, electrical etc. They are no Makita or Porter but they are great for light and medium stuff. Best thing about them is I can leave them on a job site at lunch and nobody will steal them.

Just a friendly sugfestion.If you get the 1 or 2 year in store plan and you have 3 of them .If 1 goes you can just swap it out.You also have 90 days right off the bat so if you buy one and another goes within 90 days.......

Since I bought the belt tensioner tool at HF and it did the job (and saved money both ways) I started to look at HF more often. I like the hand tools and bought wrenches and sockets sets to build a box for carry in my car. I'm a retired mechanic and I have a box that I'm not gonna carry so I built another. I was leery of their electrics but I bought their electric impact wrench and a small angle grinder. Great around the house tools.

Lifetime warranty on the hand tools makes the tool failures a little easier to deal with. The Pittsburgh Pro breaker bar is a great deal at $20. There’s a few thorough comparison reviews on KZbin worth taking a look. The Braun folding slim LED work light has been awesome as well. Great battery life and crazy bright for the price.

jack2 freeman get a snap-on chrome socket and put it in an impact.... See how long it takes to break then you will understand why there is a difference. I abuse my snap on chrome sockets ALL THE TIME, I've never had one break in over 14 years. Proof of you get what you pay for.

magnificent10304 & all, Any HF tool $30 or under I never get the extended warranty, in fact, come to think of it, I never get ANY warranties any more from HF. I have had my share of duds from them but honestly, you get what you pay for. I've seen some items come and go pretty quickly because almost every one of them was returned! My latest buy that I am stoked about is the LED single "bulb" shop lights. I bought two of them on sale for $19.99 each and the dang thing is Gtrst! The color tint is slightly yellow like sunshine and brighter than my two lamp shop light from Ikea! Also, the Ikea light color tone was way too bright white & If I used it too much it just made me irritated. At the sale price I plan to buy at least 6 more! Their monthly catalogs are just OK while the SUPER TOOL SALES & "CLOSEOUTS" pamphlets are a insult to intelligence! Remember when they started the !0% off coupons which now have grown to 20% and on holidays 25%? What has also grown is the branded or big ticket item exclusions in a font so small I can no longer read them! I have to take a pic with my smart phone and blow it up just to see all the things it's NOT good for. I had to chuckle when recently they offered a 25% off coupon with NO restrictions (other than it was for any item under $5)! HELLO! Even the good ole returned items, open boxes, & missing parts sale section with good mark-downs is no longer an attraction. In fact, a lot of items in that section are FULL price! So I'd have to say, it's no longer fun for me to go to that place just to window shop. If I really need something on sale I go but otherwise, not so much!

I've had that same model Drill Master $18.00 cordless drill for 3 years and am totally satisfied with still. It has plenty of torque, holds a charge for an incredibly long time and am still using the original battery. Have used it with masonry bits to drill anchor holes in our brick fence and it preformed as well as my hammer drill. If it ever fails I'll buy another one as I've more than got my money's worth out of this one.

When working in close quarters, having a standard light setup (1 brightness level - on/off) will oftentimes be WAY too bright/reflective. IMHO, the better (more functional) headlamps will have at least 2 brightness settings and actually, going another step better - will also have a focusing beam. Of course, more features = more $. : ) Coast makes some decent headlamps.

So far I only bought two power tools from HF, and they just happened to be the two most have a love hate with: I bought the 23.00$ reciprocating saw #62370 I bought it in February 2018. Anyway the reason I went for it was, I had a badly clogged tub drain pipe ( Galv ) but my son moved out about 2 years back and I gave him my B&D drill and batteries ( I had 3 drills, ac and 2 dc, kept the recip saw and circular saw ) so I went to the Local Home Depot and a battery and charger would set me back 60$ before PVC , adapters etc. Went to HF ( 12 minute ride from my house ) bought the saw, I already had Dewalt blades, got that job done in 10 minutes and 10$ in parts ( 18$ saw had coupon, 10$ parts ), Saw is still running well, I have a small 1/4 acre lot but loaded with trees I have fewer trees from last year and the saw is still working well. 2nd power tool; 4 1/2 inch grinder #60372, needed something inexpensive. First thing I did from watching YT videos, was check for grease, took it apart and it had plenty of grease, just in one place, so I spread that around and got it under the gears, ran it for a half hour no load and it didn't get hot or smoke, so far 3 months out still doing fine. I bought a dead blow hammer, a 2 foot level ( daughter's boyfriend got mine ) a 4 piece pick set, so far no complaints. I am thinking about a Hercules drill driver.

I can tell you from personal experience that the Hercules is awesome. I absolutely love mine. I was a Dewalt snob for a long time and they beat out my Dewalts hands down. I started with the 1/2" driver and now own all three of the 20 volt drills. Also, the 2 yr replacement plan on it is only $19.

My favorite Harbor Freight tool is the 3-ton floor jack without a doubt. My next favorite would be the 3/8" Earthquake ratchet wrench, it is a very handy tool for when there are a lot of nuts/bolts to remove, especially when under the vehicle wrenching. I really don't have any tools from them that I rate as bad, as I spend a lot of time checking their stuff out before I actually buy.

Hit the ground running I'm a pro mechanic, but can't run air tools St home cause my circuit breaker sucks. ATM I'm thinking of getting a bunch of old propane tanks, drill new holes and hook them up to each other, I'll put the tanks upside-down so I could use the vales to bleed out water.... With enough tanks I can gather for free, I could just hook up a weak 3-5gallon compressor to it and have 60+gallons of air to use.

Get the the impacts from the Bauer line, I have the 1/4in one and its awesome. I work on small engines most of the time and I've also worked on tow trucks, only a few bolts weren't able to be taken out with the impact. Only spent $110 for the impact, 2 batteries, charger, bag, and socket adapters (so j could use sockets on the impact).

I don't find much use for my electric corded impact wrench. It is fairly big and heavy. It is 1/2 drive and has a maximum torque of 240 ft pounds and will easily get the lugs nuts off of all 4 wheels of any car. It is too big and heavy to be of any use in the engine compartment. And it doesn't save much time getting lug nuts off an on (for example to rotate tires). I'm not sure if it saves ANY time. Here's the procedure. Jack up the front of the car and rest on jack stands. Same for the rear. Then get out the impact wrench and remove all 16 lug nuts. Move your wheels around. Start the nuts back on by hand, tighten partially with the impact wrench (being very careful not to overtighten - and there seems to be NO torque adjustment on any electric impact wriench, AC or DC, that is available. So next: jack the car back down, and do the final tightening with a torque wrench. This is THE most time-consuming part. Procedure without impact wrench: with a breaker bar, short extension, and socket, break loose all 16 nuts. I use a 3/4 inch drive bar, a 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch adapter, and a 1/2 inch socket. Is not at all difficult to loosen the nuts if you have a good quality breaker bar of adequate length. For an overtightened nut you can put a piece of iron pipe over the end of the breaker bar. Very little physical strength is required. Jackup the front and rest on jack stands. same for the rear. Spin off all 16 nuts with the same tool you used to break the nuts free. Hardly takes any longer than getting them off with the impact wrench. Move your wheels around. This last part hardly takes any longer than doing it with the impact wrench: start the nuts back on by hand, spin the nuts on with the breaker bar, extension, and socket, and tighten as far as practical with the wheels in the air and free to spin. Jack the car back down. Do the final tightening on the ground with the breaker bar and extension, then put the socket on the torque wrench and torque to specs. Now, if electric impact wrenches had torque adjusters, yes, they would save time, and energy. But they don't. So the only time savings is it takes slightly longer to spin the nuts off, and later to spin them on.Just a few seconds for each nut. And the hardest part, requiring the most physical exertion, torquing the nuts to spec at the end, is exactly the same with both methods.

I'm not certain, but I believe that a lot of the Hercules power tools are clones of DeWalt tools. They look exactly the same, feel the same (maybe a bit cheaper), and even the batteries are interchangeable with DeWalt tools. Like, wow!

I have used HF tools since long before they came into the Northeast. A trucker friend of mine used to stop at their main store on his way home. I have a 4000 watt generator that has been flawless, a 6.5 horse engine on my snowblower, and a large assortment of powrr tools, all great. The only piece of junk I got was the ball joint seperator set. The first time I used it, the C- clamp bent. I upgraded to a Snap-on clamp. Everything else has lasted and held up well.

I bought a 1/2 in air ratchet in 1998 and used it at least 4 days a week since then. I paid 14$ for it and it still works. Oil it every time You use it to clean it out. 20 ton pipe press bought in 2002 still works, made 4 roll cages with it among many other projects. And many other tools still working after lots of years of every day use in a hot rod shop. Cherry pickers, welders,hand tools etc.

My most useful and favorite tool from HF is their oscillating multi-tool (the plug in one, not cordless). I have shaved undercoat off a car with it, I have fitted new Kitchen cabinets, cut new holes in dry wall... etc.. The list of things I have done with this tool is endless and it has never disappointed me. The worst is their black oxide torx bits. Instant shatter. Although I would probably not use black oxide torx bits from anyone else either.

Im an on call on site heavy equipment repair shop on wheels, I work on d8 dozers and kenworths with nothing but harbor freight ratchets and wrenches, and husky sockets. I bought the electric chain saw and am SO happy with it's performance. The only aggravating thing about it that may very well be a simple chain saw thing of any brand is that it leaks oil like crazy between uses. After I'm through with a job from now on, I will empty the oil before storing it. The only thing that I wasted money on is the battery operated fly swat. By the time you get close enough to actually zap the bug, it has flown. This isn't a Harbor Freight thing - this would be the case no matter where you buy one.

I bought a set of their small calipers and was surprised at how well they did for what I was using them for. Now bear in mind I was using them for something they were not designed to do and that is cut through a sheet of heavy plexiglass. I used them to cut a large circle out of that sheet and they did not bend or warp in any way. The only thing that happened to them was that the tips got a little dull but that was fixed with a diamond hone rapidly in just a few minutes. All in all, very satisfied with them as I am still able to use them to lay out leather projects with them.

Lots of good comments here, I learned a few things to avoid maybe, some that I disagree with, one to add. I saw several comments, or maybe at least a few, saying the pneumatic die grinders, the little cut-off grinders, are crap. I disagree, sort of. I had a job where I needed to grind some large bolts in an area where I could not use a regular 4 inch electric metal grinder, I bought every one they had to get all the angles, and I used the crap out of them, and they all still work except one. There was one that I hardly used at all, and I lent it to somebody and it came back broken, frozen, sent to the metal recycler. The difference was that I was lubricating the hell out of the ones I was using with pneumatic oil, stopping every probably fifteen or twenty minutes to put in three or four more drops of oil, and all of mine still work. The one that I lent out, the guy didn't know that you had to oil them. He said he was cutting welds on a tube frame and only got part way thru, cutting maybe twenty welds, when it froze up, and he came back sore at me for lending him a crap tool. My conclusion is that the HF die grinders, I forgot the brand, Pittsburg I think, are maybe a little less forgiving of not being oiled regularly. I had a low-profile aluminum racing jack that had a couple of problems. First, you have to twist the handle pretty hard to get the valve to close tight enough to not bleed off before you can get jack stands under the car, not a failing, just a little bit of an annoyance. Second, there are these little machine screws about an inch long with an eyelet at the end that hold one end of the return spring. THere are two of them holding two springs. They have a nasty habit of backing out and getting lost with the spring dangling in the dirt and snagging on stuff as you roll the jack around the shop and around the yard. We have a machine shop, so we were able to use the one that hadn't come out as a pattern to make a new part, and when it happened a second time, we just pushed a button on the CNC machine and made another. But a regular shade tree guy would have been making two or thre trips to Lowes or somewhere to get the right lenth of screw and a couple of nuts and mickey mouse out a way to attach the spring and would have had two or three or four hours in a half-assed repair. However, that being said, we have used the hell out of this jack, use it nearly every day, and while I can't say 'I love it', it does get the job done, being light, it is very nice to throw in the back of the van or the truck to go rescue a dead car somewhere. It was a hundred and some odd dollars, as I recall, and the equivalent Mac tools was something like four times the price and I didn't even bother to check Snap On, and at that price, I don't worry as much about somebody lifting it out of the back of the truck. I guess nobody wants to risk county jail and having to tell everybody there that you were put there for tryhing to rip off a HF jack. A Snap On Jack would be a different matter. People would steal a Snap On Jack, even if they didn't need one Somebody else mentioned their $ 20 HF breaker bar. I have one of those too. But I also have a Snap On 30 inch breaker bar I got probably twenty years ago. They set next to each other in the socket drawer, and I almost always subconciously pick up and use the Snap On tool. However, I paid a few hundred dollars for it probably twenty years ago. It's eventually going to get lost or broken, or more likely stolen, and so I bought the MF as a back up. Snap on no longer makes the same 30 in breaker bar, and I don't like the redesigned ones as much, so I got a craftsman, a husky, and the MF, all for a fraction of the SEVERAL hundred dollars the new Snap On tool costs

3 years ago my 18v Drillmaster was split in half by a metal beam that fell on it. I wrapped it up with electrical tape and duct tape and to this day it works like a champ and just as good as my Dewalt and Ryobi drills.

My best HF tool so far would be set of chisels (ones with wooden handles). Yes the need to be flattened and sharpened but after that they are sharp as razor and stay sharp for quite a while. Worst tool so far was set of ball pin hammers... crooked heads and super soft metal. As my honorable mention I would put all the consumables (sand paper, drill bits, blades, brushes and even super glue) those things are ridiculously cheep and good enough to get the job done.

First it's ball peen, and you want softish metal in a metal working hammer. A metal working hammer can't be brittle cause you don't want it to crack and throw shards. Better it mushrooms over time.

Best electric tool I bought was there $20 angle grinder. Had it for 8+ years and use it for EVERYTHING. Grinding/cutting metal, cutting large patio pavers and cutting tile and marble. Same grinder and it is still going strong. This is not their cheaper like $12 one, it’s the next step up.

You had a defective drillmaster drill. I took 2 of these, with spare batteries, and put up a 5/8 sheetrock ceiling in a 48 x 24 building. They are thin plastic, so don't drop them. I put a dropped one back together with shoo-goo and duct tape, and finished the job. When a drill started to slow, we swapped batteries and were able to work uninterrupted. We also used the little adapters for screwing in sheetrock. Invaluable adapter. Again, i think you had a defect, our pair worked great. I'd buy it again if i needed another.

About 5 or 6 years ago, I went to HF because I needed a battery type drill. They sold me an 18 volt Black and Decker drill with two batteries, a charger and a case, all of which I still have. I can be considered a bit more than a hobbiest, as I build bicycles and many other things and not a week goes by when I don't use it several times a day. For $18.95, it is one of the best buys I have made and it uses the same batteries as the one you showed.

Tom Moores Impact sockets are designed softer so that they don’t split and hurt the user as well as they protect the anvil of the gun from damage. Using a chrome socket on them won’t necessarily hurt them under light use, I do it all the time, but for heavy, extended hammering you really should have impact sockets

I did have a issue with the inner flange of the 4.5" angle grinder not being cut correctly and thus not seating right, just bought a black n decker/porter cable inner flange from Amazon and that did the trick.

My deceased father was an owner operator truck driver who hauled steel interstate for many years. He had been a customer with Harbor Freight since they had only one store and that was in California. Harbor had great stuff to order, but their electrical stuff: drills, etc, have always been a problem. What I had seen in your video confirms to me that Harbor had not solved their problems with the electrical powered stuff they sell. So, I avoid buying drills, etc. from them. I had better luck buying from these stores: Wal-Mart, Rural King, Home Depot, Menard, Lowes. However, NAPA has been the most pricey compared to other auto parts tools when it comes to selling tools.

Roger Braasch I have 5 pieces of the Bauer battery operated tools from HF and for weekenders, they work great. The small battery is not the greatest, but the larger 5 amp hour runs quite a while, using the saws and large 450 ya. Impact. The Hercules impact is good, long battery life.

Haven't bought a lot of things from HF, but so far I have not been disappointed. My favorite, by far, is the half ton pickup truck crane with the winch. I took off the hand cranked winch, and with a little effort, mounted the one ton portable marine winch on it. I use it to move my generator, and pull sludge pumps from sewage lift stations. Even used it to load my 600 pd. gun safe with no problems at all.

Favorite tool from harbor freight is the Bauer portable bandsaw. I beat on that thing regularly and have made hundreds upon hundreds of straight cuts on angle iron and pipe with zero issues whatsoever. The biggest disappointment.. Anything at all to do with sandblasting. I've tried everything minus a blast cabinet pretty much and all the large sandblasting units are virtually worthless.

At one time I needed a good 3/16" drill bit for drilling pilot holes in stainless steel. I bought several specialty bits from Mac Tools that did not last and didn't do the job (not even once). These bits were expensive, around $12 each. I bought a 33 piece bit set from Harbor Freight for $9.99. I used the 3/16'' bit for several years before I retired 10 years ago. That bit drilled hundreds of hole in stainless steel and never needed sharpening. I still have that bit set and use out of it often. Best 10 bucks I ever spent.

Same with most brands, tool still works great but 1 or 2 years battery dies and your forced to buy new tools because they Changed battery pack deSigns. HF is not as bad as others, but it still sucks when it happens. When my dad passed on I got his tools. Big name brand, drill, circular saw, jig saw, saz all, sander, and more. Only found 1 battery that held little charge, all tools work perfectly but battery is crap and can not get new ones. He probably paid $300-$400 for that tool set and it is trash now just because you can't buy new Batterieries.

I bought the telescopic 1/2 drive ratchet and the 3 ton low profile jack over 6 years ago. (So long ago the ratchet handle is green and black) jack $100 w/ warranty Ratchet $15. I've since bought lots from there. I've used the ratchet as a hammer several times and broke snap-on swivel, the jack was used everyday. I was a mobile mechanic for a while in ATL so taking it out of my vehicle slamming it on the asphalt regulatory... Anyway they are both still working hard to this day. Love them. It's worth the price in there to take a gamble and see.

ive used HF tools since they orig came out, I believe in early 80s or something and generally am pleased...my good stuff is snap on, Williams, etc...but I was pleasantly surprised by the strength of the HF 3/4 drive ratchet...that thing doesn't 'click' like reg ratchets, it goes 'clank'...lol...anyway, I was removing an axle from a military truck and couldn't get an impact on the ubolt nuts cuz it was too close to the ground and I was too lazy to jack it up so I grabbed my HF 3/4 drive ratchet, put a 10 foot length of antenna mast on it as a cheater bar and lunged away...on the third lunge I heard a loud POP and the slack told me something broke...well I thought, "shit, now I gotta return my cheap ratchet cuz im sure it snapped off,"...but no! the nut had broken loose and all was well...there had to have been at least 500 to 600 ft lbs on that thing but no problem...did the whole job that way, no sweat for that ratchet

I bought the Pittsburgh ratchet wrench set. One of the ratchet ends broke after about a 3 or 4 month amount of use, the teeth started binding up. I took it back and asked one of the employees about the "lifetime" warranty that was advertised on the packaging when I bought them. They said no problem and grabbed another package, opened it up, and gave me a new one (I don't remember the size) on the spot. No fuss, no paper work, and no wait. For the price I was totally happy with those I purchased. I've had them for about 10 years and haven't had another failure. Just an FYI.

I have been working on cars/trucks since mid 70's and have had many tools of the over priced best brands and most HF tools do the same jobs just as well but a fraction on the price. My machinist type tools are accurate as higher priced brands. Hand tools like sockets, rachets, wrenches work just as well, even withstand abuse that would have busted name brands. I know this because I have busted name brands costing much more! Floor jacks at HF costing me $80 work every bit as well and last far longer than big name brands that had cost me $200 and more!!!

Not sure what brand but big name brand I did bust one using breaker bar, though I knew better. Emergency and my normal chrome socket was missing for correct size so I used an impact socket I did have in correct size. Busted it on 5th nut, but got the job done. Yes they do look almost like pot metal when they break, but they are not. Chrome sockets are softer metal that somewhat flex under high steady torque so do not break as easy, but used with an impact gun with round out it the corners. Impact sockets are harder and do not round out with impacts, but not strong to steady hard torque like breaker bar. Anyway I have used some HF 1/2" impact sockets with adapter on 3/4" impact gun, never broke one yet, maybe you got a bad one or I just got lucky for a for years. Lol

Best air tool from harbor freight is the dual hammer 1/2 impact named the Earthquake, its red. Has more torque than my Snap-On fact. I recently just bought another one after 11 years mainly because there was soo much water running through the air line. And yes i was never nice to it. Would drop it from knee or thigh high as a mechanic all day everyday. Highly recommend to anyone. Their micrometers work great and their impact 6 point sockets.

Pittsburgh tools are lifetime and I know for sure those gear wrenches are. One thing I ran into with those is you have to flip them to go the opposite direction and if you run into a tight spot you can’t get them to turn the bolt back in to get the wrench off. The gear wrenches with the flip switch are a lot better.

The worse thing I ever bought from Harbor freight was the manual tire changer. The first time I used it, almost everything bent including the tire bar. by the time I made all the repairs and parts that bent I could have made the entire thing from scratch. After all of the beefing up and modifications it works great. I would not recommend this to anyone, unless you hate yourself!

I bought the Hydraulic punch set (3/4"-2") 5 years ago. I use it for punching out electrical panels all the time. I have not had to change the O-Rings, or add fluid to it. For $90, it has definitely been worth every penny compared to some of the big name hydro-punches that cost up to $2000 for the same cup/dye set up.

try using those electric powered drills for screw driving anything that is not electrical. Wal-Mart has a good brand of them. They have never failed me. Your screw drivers broke because you were applying too much torque for what they were intended to be used for. Electric Powered drills and screw drivers are safer and won't break in your hand.

I have used the drill master for several years. I depend on it for light work around the house. I have not experienced the battery problem, As a matter of fact, I have failed to recharge it over night and find that it work excellent the next day. I recently made a couple of tables and flower boxes,using my drill master over a 4-6 hour period and had no problems. Of course I have an electric drill for heavier work I will be performing. The wrenches, I had a similar problem, I thought it was my use of the tool. I purchased another set, so far no problems. I have no use for the jack. Ive bought several "larger" tools from HF and shop there occasionally still. I bought my 21 gal. 4-1/2 hp compressor 22 years ago and its still running strong. Just retired my 10" sliding miter saw that I bought there about 20 years ago. I only replaced it because I could afford to, it still works fine. I have many other high end brand name tools but HF is a great store if you know what you are spending your money on.

I own the 1/2" drive torque sticks. The lug nuts on my cars take 95 ft/lbs of torque. I use the 40 ft/lb torque stick, and finish up with a torque wrench (typically 1/2 - 3/4 turn). The lug nuts on my truck take 150 ft/lbs of torque. I use the 100 ft/lb torque stick, and finish up with a torque wrench. I did test the torque sticks against my torque wrench, and they were extremely close to their rated torque. I'm just paranoid about over tightening, so I still use a torque wrench to follow up with.

i"m a retired Carpenter and Electrician . When I was in the field all of my tools were Craftsmen or Millwakee products. now that I am retired I don"t need that reliability or strength from my tools, so I have been using the Harbor freight Pittsburgh and Bauer tools alot . The best advise I could give to anyone is to know what to exspect form your tools and sometimes a few extra dollars can go a lot way and save aggrevation down the road.

The reason you had a problem with the ring on the end of the impact gun is because you are using Chrome sockets. That ring is designed to hold impact sockets in place not Chrome sockets.

I have had a Drill Master for about 4 years that's still kicking and works really well for stuff around the home and also drilling through metal. It does not have a lithium battery and because of that it makes sense that the experience you had wasn't so great. I think that's my critique of it. Lead acid batteries just suck, but hey that's what everyone has in there cars. It's good for several years, but you can easily ruin a lead acid battery from over charging it. So more or less if you have one or more tools that have lead acid battery then you need to set a timer and take it off the charger around the time it is fully charged or you are going to run into issues.

No way I'm trusting one of those jacks. I've been burned too many times at harbor freight. Just the other day my Pittsburgh piece of shit torque wrench wasn't clicking and I broke a lug nut. Already wasted all the money I saved.

I have owned one floor jack, ever, and it is the 3 ton steel Pittsburgh. I use it a decent amount and have had it about ten years and it is awesome. I also had their 3/8 clicker type torque wrench for about ten years and just the other day finally had to do a warranty exchange for it, and that was from me trying to use it as a breaker bar!

I still have a angle grinder that was 15 bucks I bought it for a fence job when I was 16 and it has been soaked it still works no problem I have the guard off it and running a 8 inch grinder wheel ,it won't die

I restore old alfa romeo's for fun. I use HF hand tools, tool benches, jacks. Good bang for buck and allows a lot more money to be used in the actual cars rather then tools. For a mechanic who's not professional but also advanced in skill, the Pittsburgh Pro line is perfectly adequate for most things. Their low profile aluminum jacks are also a must have for low slung cars like mine. I used to be a tool snob, but not anymore. HF has improved a lot and has some great stuff.

Good HF BUYS: Blue aluminum floor jack, purple air spray paint gun (followed KZbin mods), come along winch, 8" 5sp drill press, 4x36" belt / 6" disc sander (throw away mini table for disc sander, bolted on wood stop for belt sander), all air ratchet wrenches and air nailers and staplers, many more....What sux: cheap yellow coiled air compressor line, brass air extension fitting..I had two crack, pistol black grip air blow gun...had air in the line and metal nozzle blew off, any of the black with grey pad ratcheting bar clamps...fall apart, yellow and black batteries of any type, 18x30" blue polypropylene moving dolly, cracke w less than 100lbs on it...bolted a 2x10" board length wise now is fine. Overall I am a big fan of HF, especially freebies and 20-25% off coupons....which if they ever discontinued either, i would not go back. For people tired of getting ripped off by big brand items, and deal with an occassioned mfg quality issue that is not a show stopper....easy to load up your tool box w tools you wanted but could not afford, especially specialty tools used occassionally.

I bought a kick-ass floor jack at Harbor Freight that I absolutely love. It has never let me down its lower profile so I can get under my lowered car but yet it's still big enough that I can lift my 1-ton truck with it

Experiment with a rubber o-ring on the impact. I’m not sure what size but test a few sizes and thicknesses. 👍

Dude should have either pulled the ring off and filed the ends to make it a tighter fit, or just sanded the ring down a bit and put it back on.

I was gonna suggest the same thing...u can get an o-ring assortment from harbor freight (LOL..why not?) and try them out on the end of ur impact to see which one holds the socket on but still allows ez inst and removal

Great tools from HF are Pittsburgh pro ratchets, breaker bars, impact sockets, the box wrenches aren’t bad at all, the green pliers are good as well, the 3/8 air impact and air ratchet are good as well, the 1/2 stubby impact gun is good as well, the 3/8 cordless ratchet is decent, and today I just picked up the Bauer cordless 1/2 impact wrench which I’ve only used for a little bit but so far it seems to be a good deal for about $120 plus $20 for a charger and $40 for the 3 amp battery

If you want a battery power tool with great build quality, I prefer Bauer power tools from HF. I got a quarter and half impact gun, a power drill, and a light. The quarter and power drill includes a small battery, two bits, and a charger. I also have a titanium drill bits and the impact bits as well
