I am an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian and we have a mantra that works like Bhakti called the Noetic Prayer, the Prayer of the Heart, the Ceaseless Prayer, it goes by many names but is repeated continuously to focus the mind & heart on God: "Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy upon me, I am but a sinner..." It is also syllabic, and each line is inhaled, then the next exhaled (3 syllables, 3 syllables, 6 syllables, 6 syllables, all divisible by the divine number 3).

There's another way of expressing it too, with divine names: "Yeshua ben Yosef, the Son of Ahayah, have mercy upon me, I am but a sinner..." or "Yashaya ha'Mashiach, the Son of the Most High God, have mercy upon me, I am but a sinner..." the first one has 6/6/6/6 syllables, the second has 7/7/6/6 syllables, all numerologically significant, and I say all three at different times.

@@reeferfranklin So was Jesus son of Joseph or Son of God? Jesus himself also referred to himself mostly as Son of Man. And he said we are all children of God, hence why God is referred to as The Holy or Heavenly Father to all, not just Jesus.

Thanks for the video Giri. To me the concept of oral tradition is really interesting. In Judaism you have the Oral Torah wich is the explanation of the Written Torah by God himself. They say you cannot understand the Hebrew Bible without the oral tradition because of the limitations of human logic and false interpretations. Is it similar in Yoga?
@3tpath3 жыл бұрын
Not really. In yoga the main texts were written down millennia ago, such as Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. However, we do need a guru, which Krishna says so Himself in the Gita. The guru can help you "unpack" the texts.
@reeferfranklin3 жыл бұрын
@buffandene Oriental Orthodox Christianity is much the same, nothing was written down in the early church, and oral traditions like psalms, prayers, contemplative mantras help us to achieve the mystical experience of the divine, unlike modern Christianity that asks you to take it all on faith, in our tradition you take it on faith because you have literally experienced it, you have the evidence of Gnosis, experiential knowledge.

How does this help with trauma stored in the body, is it dangerous? I heard traumatised people get panic from doing. yoga?

It's not at all dangerous. No student of mine has ever had any problems from following the 3T Path. Try it and see.

One question... I am a lord Vishnu devotee and lord Krishna is a reincarnation of lord Vishnu so can I for instance alternately do mantra chanting of both lord Vishnu and lord Krishna or should I stick to one only and also is it okay if I chant 'aum namah shivaya' 1 day in a week as that's not a mantra of neither lord Vishnu nor lord Shiva?
@3tpath Жыл бұрын
In the more advanced stages of bhakti-yoga we must fully focus our attention in the one form of Bhagavan we wish to interact with and join in eternal loving service. Thus, you should fully focus your energy and devotion on Krishna, on Radha-Krishna to be more precise.

Namaste. How long should we meditate per day?
@3tpath3 жыл бұрын
I recommend you start with 20 minutes a day and then increase as you can to around 1 hour a day. Of course, more the merrier, but I find that one hour a day is already quite challenging for most us, since we have so many obligations in life.

Bhakti Sutras is a different book, allegedly written by Narada Muni. I don't have any videos about it. But the first place to learn about bhakti is in the Bhagavad-gita.

By studying. By researching the highest sacred literature, namely Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita. By doing this you'll understand that Krishna, more specifically Radha-Krishna, are the highest objects of your bhakti and will fill your life with endless sweet bliss.

@@3tpath I have been doing the hare krishna mantra I don't eat meat but was told I can't eat onion and garlic as I wear a tulsi mala what should I do?
@3tpath2 жыл бұрын
@@michaelurukalo4657 We avoid onion and garlic, as it is rajasic, but this is not anything like avoiding meat etc., as those are tamasic. So, don't worry about this rule, as it is a minor consideration. But, if you can choose, then you choose to avoid or eat less onion and garlic.
