11:45 This is one of the best ways to see if an intruder is present or not, seeing if your cat is hiding. There was actually a case of this where this lady called the cops because her cat that was _ALWAYS_ at the door when she returned from work wasn't at the door one night. The cops were annoyed and thought she was being silly, but decided to search anyways for her peace of mind. They returned almost immediately having apprehended a man who was hiding in her closet. This likely saved her life, so please remember it.

@@Sharkxm I think he means to leave your kid at home half the week without ever coming back home and without telling your kid where you are. Every parent leaves their kid home alone once they're old, that's normal. But to leave your kid home alone for 3 whole days or more without disclosing where they are is not normal
@Panda-cute2 жыл бұрын
@@Sharkxm oof. They can’t just knock or call?
@Panda-cute2 жыл бұрын
@@Sharkxm lol well that’s on them then. It’s really not hard or expensive to get copies of a house key, maybe they’ll do that eventually. Or you could show them home invasion stats for your area 😂 or maybe not haha, you’d obviously know better than I do how that would go. I hope you don’t get broken into, or if you do that you’re not home
@Panda-cute2 жыл бұрын
@@Sharkxm so I’m paranoid as heck, so take my advice with a grain of salt. That being said- I would get a small personal protection thing regardless of the key situation. I have a pepper spray (gel is safer for you but mist is okay, be wary of wind), taser, glass breaker, and two knives. Keep it near you whenever possible and especially when alone. That way you at least have a chance if forced to defend yourself. You could also get a gun if you’re old enough. but that’s a lot more time, effort, and risk, so I don’t recommend one over something else. I do highly recommend self defense courses as well- there are mixed and ones catered specifically to women (you sound like a girl to me so I’m very sorry if you’re not) that can teach you awareness techniques and things like how to break out of chokeholds. You can find plenty of youtube tutorials, look for official ones and be wary of ones that teach you dangerous ish like trying to take a gun away from someone- that just never goes well. Martial arts aren’t a bad idea either- a simple tip is that if you punch, don’t tuck your thumb you will break it. Also have an escape plan. Can your window be unlatched if you have one, or easily broken? Better to be cut up by the glass than murdered or kidnapped. Is there an attached bathroom or one you could run to? How many doors does your home have, including garage? (Don’t answer these they’re just to consider) Avoid trapping yourself and get out of the house if at all possible. Call 911 as soon as you hear them and listen to them unless the situation evolves faster than they can assist. Is there room under your bed or in the closet to hide? If you are not on a ground level, look for ways to safely escape your room. Ideally an escape plan for any part of the house is good to have- not only for intruders, but for fires or other situations too. Always keep your phone charged enough to last 30 minutes to an hour. If you can’t call 911 fast enough start recording and yell that 911 is on the way, or try to actually call and keep saying it, this is sometimes enough to make the person leave. Also if you are caught by the person do whatever they say but do not get in a vehicle ever.

That first story, ending with "she found a better guy I guess" and "you'd think after this we'd've started dating the next week" is such a 'nice guy' way to end it. Saving someone's life isn't a romantic move, and it's disturbing how many movies play off of the false trope that it is. It's basic human decency, a person may receive another's favor for a little while, but they aren't entitled to be given anything and the majority of relationships that are based on "I saved your life/we survived it" don't often work.

So I guess saving your family member isn't mainly because you love your family.... When you are romantically in love with someone, you will do everything in your power to protect that person. So it does have to do with you loving them, not that it's just the "humane thing to do" yes I would save someone who I don't know if they were in danger. But there would obviously be more behind it, when I love the person personally. Or if they were a best friend of mine. It goes beyond just being "courteous".

Story 2. STOP TELLING CRIMINALS THAT YOU'RE CALLING THE COPS! All this does is make it easier for them to escape and go do bad things to other people. Edit: I wrote this comment after watching a different video where someone came to OPs house and was outside. OP in that story did the same thing as the one in this story where they threatened to call the cops to make the person go away. The person left and went on to victimize someone else. That could have been avoided if that OP had just made the call about someone trying to get in since they were safe inside the house. Had the call been made without the antagonist knowledge they likely would have stayed at OPs house longer and there would've been a higher likelihood of them being caught. This story jogged my mind of the ither one which is why I made the comment. If you are in danger and the threat to call will help remove you from danger then you should do that but if you are already safe just make the call. If the situation changes and you become in danger you now have the ability to say I already called the cops and they're on the way. That was the whole point I was trying to make, though admittedly the story I picked for an example was not the best one to articulate that point.

Can anyone else kind of sense if someone is in a room with you? Even when it is pitch black. I think that I can… I wonder if it is a combination of fight or flight mixed with a form of echolocation. For instance, a room sounds “hollow” without anyone in it, but if someone stands next to the wall, then I can possibly hear the minute change in the sound from the sound waves bouncing off the person rather than the wall. Sometimes, I’ll walk into a room and “feel” my dog’s presence in there, without initially knowing where he was.

Today I woke up and remembered that guy in the bathroom stall at the mall, the tall one, with the video with the jumpscare right in that moment. I'll never forget that, I saw it at least 2 years ago. It always brings me back to this channel. And for that I'm grateful. Great stories, nothing is more disturbing than reality.

I don't understand why Casey's friend would alert the guy that she knew Casey wasn't with him and that she called the police because then he's now aware and would make his escape. She should have just kept playing along and sent the cops there. I don't understand why so many people do this and then wonder why the guy was never caught. If someone was in your house then I can understand telling them you called the cops to chase them off. But in some cases, like this one, it would have been wiser to not let them know you called the cops if you're wanting to catch them.

The most creepy part of Video 1 isn't the intruder, but the guy's bitter disappointment he didn't score a date from a friend he called the police for. "You'd think after this we'd have started dating the next week, but this didn't happen...." Stuff like this is bone chilling. No one is owed a date for calling the police for someone. Bizarre.
