Thanks I was wondering about genres, topics and tropes regarding writing and development of jokes, bits, skits and the word processing aspects, kinda like commander data on star Trek asking what is funny and the holographic man says "tip o Neil in a dress?" What about a set up that explains something to the audience that they might not already know like the premise of a tv show you wanna talk about?

That's just a long setup much as Patton Oswalt does. Long setups also require a lot of laughs to follow to make up for how much stage time the setup takes.

Dont people just start with like bunking of school and then say have you ever seen Ferris bullers day off where amazing things happen then say you know what haopened when I bunked of school fuck all! You know what's more boring than school? Not going to school! Sarah Kendall said that and I laugh cos I was saying the same thing that day!
