Hey David I’m curious where you would put something like the ChamSys MagicQ PC Wing? Thanks for all the great content!

That would be a pro-level console. Thanks!

What about Madrix? Where does that software (and hardware) fall into your list?
@LearnStageLighting4 жыл бұрын
In this video, I'm primarily talking about consoles that control lighting in cues, etc. Madrix does pixel mapping (playing video on lighting), and is more of a "sidecar" to add to a regular console when you're pixel mapping. Depending on what your needs are, Madrix can be a great fit - it's a solid program!

Is Zero88 Prograde ?(in your opinion) I am using a Zero88 Flx with 8 universes
@LearnStageLighting3 жыл бұрын
It definitely straddles the line between intermediate and pro-grade. Not fully pro, but more capable than some intermediate consoles

You could say, there is a super basic lighting console, which is the old anolog type which, dose not even use dmx.

That's true as well, but I can't cover every caveat and keep the videos at a reasonable time :)

Learn Stage Lighting .com I understand, plus most of these old consoles are extinct and are hard to find. Just thought they where worth an honorable mention:)

I hate when manufacturers of intermediate level consoles (Looking at you Chamsys QuickQ, Zero88 FLXs, ETC Color Source) atifically limit the usabillity of multy souce lights. I know its ment to prevent pixelmapping with those consoles but there would be a way to achieve the same with out breaking some fixtures. Specifically I am takling about fixture with more than one independent source with diferent propperties (like a moving head with a spot and a wash). My solution would be that all chanels are accessible but can not be directly accessed (and not controlled by the color picker) those functions are limited the the entire light at once. This would make pixelmapping nearly impossible but wouldn't limit the kind of fixture that are usable. Also I would love to have an intermediate lighting console designed for theatrical lighting. I guess I will have to found my ouw startup and develop one myself.

Haha, yes. Though I do have info about some updates coming to the lightShark in maybe 6 months to make it much more usable for theatrical shows.
