3 Ultra Rare Cars From 1960s!
Some of the Most rare cars from the 1960s that you probably don't know about. These aren't your everyday rides - they're special machines that stood out from the crowd.
First up, we've got the Unipower GT. Only about 75 of these British sports cars were ever made between 1966 and 1969. Two guys named Ernie Unger and Val Dare-Bryan wanted to make a car that was fast like a race car but didn't cost too much. They used parts from other cars to keep the price down, including engines from the Mini. The Unipower GT was super light - just over 500 kilograms! This made it quick and fun to drive, even with its small engine.
Next, let's talk about the Ogle SX1000. This was a regular Mini that got a complete makeover. For £550 (which would be about £14,800 today), the Ogle company would transform your Mini into something totally different. They gave it a new body made of fiberglass and even used the windshield from a different car to make it look unique. Sadly, only 69 of these were ever made because the designer, David Ogle, died in a car accident in 1962.
Last but not least, we have the Sunbeam Tiger. This car mixed British style with American muscle. The Rootes Group, a British car company, wanted to make a faster version of their Sunbeam Alpine. They asked Carroll Shelby, who was famous for putting big V8 engines in small British cars, to help. The result was the Tiger, which had a Ford V8 engine squeezed into the small Alpine body. It was super fast for its time, going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 8 seconds!

Nice to see something on the brilliant Unipower, and the Ogle. I have an MG metro powered 3 wheeler Berkeley T60 but I remember when the Unipower first hit the UK market....wish I'd had the cash for one back then.
