XLOOKUP is so amazing, I use it constantly now. One of the best functions Microsoft has introduced in years, along with FILTER. Thanks Mike!

@PaulasPicks2 жыл бұрын
I'll admit that while I see the XLOOKUP advantage, I haven't used it other than to practice a bit; I'm still a VLOOKUP gal. But, this was such a quick way to see how small the differences between the two lookups were, with such cool results to boot. Thank you for teaching, Mike!
@excelisfun2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome for the small differences, cool results and fun teaching, VLOOKUP Gal Paulas!!!! By The Way, VLOOKUP can spill all the results too if you have Microsoft 365 Excel or Excel 2021.

Great video, Mike! Learned a couple of things: • create relationship between 2 Excel tables and everything is imported directly into the data model (you may have shown that before, but I had forgotten about that), I always do it the long way. Although I find myself using the Excel pop-up interface to the data model more and more, especially for creating DAX measures. • when creating a pivot table from the data model we still have the date grouping feature (I thought we didn’t have that when working with the data model). BTW: I agree that the labels in the relationship window are confusing, here’s a little trick I use: “Related Table” is the table you refer to in DAX by using the RELATED function. Thus the dTable (dimension table). The label to the right confirms this mnemonic technique: Primary Key.

I have watched a lot of your videos but I have not seen one that shows getting data from SharePoint folder. I need to import multiple excel tables from SharePoint folder, clean, append then give a week by week update progress report in excel. Some files are small some are large. Keep in Excel vs. Power Query? These are employees completing specific classes and need to track their progress week over week. I really enjoy how you teach these classes and have watched you for many years. Thank you for all you do!
