Each tale captures the chilling loneliness of nature, where every rustle and shadow can hide unspeakable fears. Perfect for anyone who enjoys a good scare under the stars, these stories remind us that sometimes the greatest dangers in the forest are not the beasts that roam, but the unknown that waits.

1) Never go camping alone and without a firearm. 2) Never obey anyone who tells you to follow them to a dark forest at night even if they were in uniform. (That is probably a fake cop or a fake ranger).

And some people are ostriches. They just won't accept the fact that there are people who truly enjoy inflicting pain and suffering on others or willing to rob and rape at will. They won't consider the fact that they must be responsible for their own safety and think they can "reason" or talk sense to their predator. They are the ones who say, "they dont want to live like that." They hate guns. They hate to think about reality.

One day, I woke up. It was morning. I was drinking the night before so my eyes were dry and crusty. I got up from the bed. My head was spinning in all directions. I made my way to the bathroom where I began to let out all my fluids from my skin flute. After flushing the toilet, I washed my hands using white soap to clean them. Walking down the steps, I walked out to get the mail, as I walked out, I saw someone walking while listening to headphones. I proceeded to get my mail. Then I looked over again and saw him still walking and listening to his music. That’s when I ran back to my house. Locked my door. Then I prepared breakfast to eat. All I could think about was my neighbor walking and listening to his headphones.

Why would any sane camper , hiker, outdoorsman, ect go into the wilderness(or -anywhere else for that matter) without a firearm for protection? I know many say it is because of the weight(ounces matter) and I understand that. But, it only makes sense to carry protection, same as carrying food, water, first-aid supplies, ect(you know, the necessities). Personal protection is as necessary as anything else one carries, because if you are murdered, you want need the other things you are carrying. I guess being raised a country boy, growing up hunting and exploring the woods, carrying a firearm and a knife is just second nature to me. I also carried a firearm as a LEO and every day of my life since. There are some mean people and mean critters in this world, both in the wilderness and on the streets. I never used my firearm as a LEO, but I did have to use it when I was in the mountains many years ago, to prevent two people from robbing me and possibly hurting me or killing me. They were very surprised when I drew my concealed handgun. Without that handgun, that day would have ended differently. Til this day, I never walk out of my home without my firearm and I would suggest you don’t either.

@@10RexTheWolf01 This is unfortunately true. I remember being able to leave cars unlocked day or night. Could stay gone all day and not lock the doors on the house. People don't even walk to their mailbox without locking their gates anymore. Don't go outside after dark or before sunrise and never drive in the dark. The world has changed so much that people don't feel safe anywhere.

@@LindaHull-le1st I'd say the world was always this dangerous. We're just more connected now vs then that we're just realizing how often these things actually happened and how laxed people were then. Not to mention it's because people were too laxed is the reason why many things happen like they did.

If your finding too many people in CO when your out hiking, you're in the wrong spots, I've lived there for a few yrs and hiked, ATV's, camping etc and when I was out I would occasionally see a person but very rarely. Have never had any issues with bad run in's, most people were cool and out enjoying nature. Always carry my sidearm as well so I also don't stop just because of potential danger, be prepared, well informed and properly trained.

Never go into the woods without a firearm, the most dangerous animal is on two feet!

Whenever we go camping in our trailer or just traveling any distance in our car, we bring a gun for protection in case we need it. Better to be prepared.

I used to drive alone at night from LA to SF about a dozen times in the late 80s. My only companion was my S&W 38 revolver. Gave me a sense of security somehow.

If you're in your vehicle or camping near your vehicle, keep your sidearm on you at all times. Never go take a piss without your handgun on your. And toss a shotgun or rifle in your vehicle. Take it out and keep the long gun next to you in the sleeping bag.

Story 1. Park rangers won't be out at night. They'd be in uniform. You were smart to pack up and leave. The dusty truck could have belonged to the man who approached you. I've lived in Colorado and there's a lot of places to camp out. Just be fully aware of your surroundings and other vehicles and people.

.Always carry a gun especially in the woods. Anyone who goes anywhere unarmed are not very smart

Story 2. That man ruined your camping trip this time. Next time take someone else with you. There's a lot of places to camp in Colorado so you may want to explore those.
