And some people are ostriches. They just won't accept the fact that there are people who truly enjoy inflicting pain and suffering on others or willing to rob and rape at will. They won't consider the fact that they must be responsible for their own safety and think they can "reason" or talk sense to their predator. They are the ones who say, "they dont want to live like that." They hate guns. They hate to think about reality.

One day, I woke up. It was morning. I was drinking the night before so my eyes were dry and crusty. I got up from the bed. My head was spinning in all directions. I made my way to the bathroom where I began to let out all my fluids from my skin flute. After flushing the toilet, I washed my hands using white soap to clean them. Walking down the steps, I walked out to get the mail, as I walked out, I saw someone walking while listening to headphones. I proceeded to get my mail. Then I looked over again and saw him still walking and listening to his music. That’s when I ran back to my house. Locked my door. Then I prepared breakfast to eat. All I could think about was my neighbor walking and listening to his headphones.

Why would any sane camper , hiker, outdoorsman, ect go into the wilderness(or -anywhere else for that matter) without a firearm for protection? I know many say it is because of the weight(ounces matter) and I understand that. But, it only makes sense to carry protection, same as carrying food, water, first-aid supplies, ect(you know, the necessities). Personal protection is as necessary as anything else one carries, because if you are murdered, you want need the other things you are carrying. I guess being raised a country boy, growing up hunting and exploring the woods, carrying a firearm and a knife is just second nature to me. I also carried a firearm as a LEO and every day of my life since. There are some mean people and mean critters in this world, both in the wilderness and on the streets. I never used my firearm as a LEO, but I did have to use it when I was in the mountains many years ago, to prevent two people from robbing me and possibly hurting me or killing me. They were very surprised when I drew my concealed handgun. Without that handgun, that day would have ended differently. Til this day, I never walk out of my home without my firearm and I would suggest you don’t either.
