Thanks so much for this tutorial, I've left 3D modeling for over 12 years since my degree, and coming back now it feels like I'm learning everything all over again. Some of the techniques you taught wasn't even covered in my course back then, and thank you for going over the techniques step by step. A mere 30-min video took me 2 days to finish, but every time I stop at a checkpoint, it feels like I have achieved mountains! And yeah, I finally can say that I understand how UV works now.

I am only 3 videos into this project and I have come away with so much knowledge! Thank you for this course! Ready for the ZBrush and Substance Painter portion of this tutorial. I'm looking forward to checking out all of the content you have created once I have completed this project. You're awesome, just when I'm about to have a question/concern about some of the things you are doing you answer it. For example, you create a lot of UV's for all the different parts of the scene but you just let the UV's stack up all over the 0-1 space! In the back of my head I'm thinking, aren't we suppose to try and fit all these things into the 0-1 positive space on the UV editor!!? Then you address my concern by breaking apart the scene into different UV sets with materials to ensure they all fit within that space!

From lesson 2 to lesson 3 all, I noticed that all your objects/models are subdivided, how come? Did I skip something or you just didn't tell about it? You did all manually or with script?
@Trimitkala4 жыл бұрын
Anywhere you want smooth preview to see the object you can smooth the model in 1subdiv level. I did it manually.

Very helpful, thank you so much! can i ask you if, during the uv transfer process, there's a difference between an object being a duplicate and one that is an instance? if roof tiles were instance of a main one, would the transfer process still need to be done? I'm not a native english speaker, hope my question was understandable :)
@Trimitkala4 жыл бұрын
Your idea is good. It could be instance objects and in that case you could only unwrap the one and it's done for all. In that uv transfer is not needed. 🙂
@pfabbri59083 жыл бұрын
I believe the checkerboard should be consistent through out the entire scene right? Otherwise you'll get different texture resolutions
