I believe the leaked song is the result of the song being reworked for the 'Michael' album in 2010. There is a leaked version of 'Chicago' or 'She Was Lovin' Me' from 2010 as well. They both ultimately obviously didn't make the cut - still great renditions though!

@@j.m.jvanramselaar4164 No, the leaked version is from 2010 when they remixed it for the "Michael" album. The original version is the demo from the "Bad" sessions. The later "Dangerous" version hasn't been leaked yet.

The “12’oclock” version you talk about actually uses a Naughty By Nature sample. The drums are a Naughty By Nature beat. I actually think it was fan made, to be honest. Tho I agreed - it’s the best version.

The song is said to be from the Dangerous era. The music from the Dangerous era had a particular sound to it, different from the Bad album years prior. However it is possible that the version officially released was produced by Michael and considered by him to be the final version of that song since it follows closely to the sound he'd been known for from Thriller to Bad. If that were the case then also, in theory - the version you believe to be the true original version - may actually be a re-worked version that he did to try to fit the style of the music from the Dangerous Era. If not then my other theory or guess is that - when it came time to put out Xscape - the Jackson Estate may have given the producers the job of giving it a general - more accepted, expected, popular/more commercial and more commercial Michael sound than the one created during the Dangerous sessions. If you listen close the the Dangerous Era - he somewhat abandons the sounds that gave him the most success in an attempt to try to make himself seem more 'grown up' in the eyes of the world who knew him as a kid, teen and young adult. He employed rock and rap to make him appear more masculine in the eyes of... dumb people, basically. So yeah, I dunno. I like the 'original version' best because at least to my mind and ears - it's Pop. The leaked version and the re-produced version..... is just Michael trying to be someone else or producers or the estate trying to make him someone else.

1st and 2nd demo is Michael working on the song experimenting and the final one in the album is the dumb remix one which sounds nothing like Mjs sound

I can understand that. I think it's good for us to be informed and really weigh for ourselves whether certain things should keep us from enjoying others. I personally due to my own research don't believe it but ain't mad at those who are just unsure. Thanks for sharing!
