Good to see that deep thinking in an artist. There are too many empty headed artists producing mediocre uninspiring “work”, that’s more of a craft than art.

Incredible, that sunlight! Anyone else would have thrown the half finished work into the dustbin, say at 12.20 in the video, but there you kept on staying true to yourself and hence, your next masterpiece started speaking.

When you paint the strokes seem suggestive and yet when looking at the painting from a distance looks much more detailed.

I have a brush for you to consider: Winsor & Newton makes a new Professional Watercolour ‘synthetic sable’ series. It is as soft as real sable or squirrel. I have two pointed rounds a 4 and 6. They are very thin, almost like rigors. Excellent for details but they keep you loose. For general painting, I would suggest the regular round or whatever shape you prefer I have tried a fairly large selection of brushes and these are quality. They are inexpensive as well. If you ever try them I would be happy to hear how you like them. I just found your you tube site recently, and I must say I really enjoy your videos. It is nice to see a true watercolor, professional of a different country and how you work. Inspires me to get busy! I have a studio at home which I am in the middle of upgrading to a solar room of Hurricane Impact Glass floor to ceiling, 2 walls of glass! In South Florida it’s needed for safety. Meanwhile my studio is all stuffed into my bedroom & storage. I am so antsy to get my space back & put in some full days of painting. I paint flowers mostly and enjoy the exotics that grow down here. I focus on Florida tropicals & may venture into endangered native species eventually. That is a newer interest. Again, thank you for sharing in such a personal way. You convey your dedication & pleasure with your profession, & you have a genuine talent with a unique & fresh style. I believe a greater success is in your very near future. Sincerely, Sara L. Fisher

I enjoy the DaVinci brush immensely and it’s about time for a new one for myself. In smaller pointed rounds unfortunately I disliked the new Winsor & Newton completely , my 4 and 6 splayed terribly so I handed them to another family member who is an artist to see what he thought and he disliked them but I wanted to like them. Their distributor noted a difference in that it didn’t carry the load of paint and water that is needed for larger movements and was not like the former quality. They were sent back and it was disappointing. I have tested many products and brushes and give feedback to companies. I purchase my own most of the time because I don’t want the money to be a factor. The larger Escoda Versátil brushes have done well by me and they have quite a variety. I use the 12 round down to the riggers but I use the larger mop by DaVinci and am happy with the choice. They have been on the market for many years and therefore are not new. It is disappointing when one spends a bit on brushes then when you load them and it only makes it half way across the sheet of paper. That is a frustrating day indeed. I have been quite amazed at even the inexpensive brushes recently. If it works then great. The thicker Arches are amazing super soakers. I have gone back to the 140lb lately due to the price but occasionally find a sale. They really take about anything and keep right on going. Your watercolors are amazing. Cityscapes are on my to do list. Since it is quite far for us to get there the farm life and nature has to be my focus. But I am amazed with your work and thank you for sharing your knowledge.😊

Splendid artwork! I do have a question: I understood that you mount the sheet of paper on a wooden board with tape. What I noticed when watching your videos is, that the surface seems to give in for a few millimeters if you apply pressure on it. How can that be? Is the board flexible, or do you have something soft between paper and board?
@TitusMeeuws
@TitusMeeuws Жыл бұрын
Thank you. You saw that very well; I stretched the wet paper on MDF board. And this bord is warps while the paper is drying. The drying process makes the papersurface smaller so when it’s dry it feels like a stretched canvas

I discovred your chanel very recently and I really like it, it’s very interesting to know that someone asks the same questions then me. However i still don’t like black and neutral Colors, for me they have to be mixed and never use them pure. Monet didn’t say that black didn’t exist, there are warm or cold dark colors in nature if we observ well. There are no life in neutral colors, it doesn’t give emotion. How do you involve in this question? Thanks a lot for the share🤩
