3 Way Switch Wiring Explained

The open illustrations of the switches are the best to learn how a 3-way setup works. Without it the verbal explanation can get confusing not knowing which wire connection is for what. Tks much. I'm saving the link to this vid for quick refresher when I do this work.

6:35 I am not an electrician but wouldn’t it be easier to run 5e black and white wires to each box and just connect the wire wires in the box instead of runnning separate black white and red wires all over the place?

I find it's always seemed to make a lot more sense to my electricians on site to explain what side was getting the power from the service panel, and what side was giving the power to the lights, this would help them, remember how to keep the wiring done correctly without making a mistake, it might seem like it's something they should already know but a quick reminder always helped them,

On the 3rd scenario showing the stairway with a switch at the top of stairs and a switch at the bottom of the stairs I see a code problem. There is not a neutral wire in either switch box.
