Great new video Brian, helps a lot in Lockdown UK. You have quite a lot of designated cycle lanes, not many over here. I agree with your views and comments, the advantages of owning a Brompton are practically limitless. Ride it, Fold it, Lift it & Carry it!, into Pubs, Cafes, Shops, Cinemas , Buses, Trains & Planes. Taken on camping trips and into Europe, freedom on 2 wheels!. A few years ago I did see a hard case with detachable wheels which not only could take the Brompton , bags, spares etc, but was also a trailer which could be stored when you arrive etc, perfect for air travel. Not sure if it was put into production, will check it out, thanks Brian

Hello again Brian. My main thoughts about the Hard Case trailer that I'd seen was it's airport handling protection etc and being able to attach wheels to it and cycle to your destination and store there until needed. Sometimes the plane overhead lockers are too full. Saying that, just had an email to say the trailer I've mentioned previously was custom made and not available. Obviously other travelling solutions are available and offer a fair degree of protection. as always love the videos, keep them wheels spinning!!

I expect this makes me introverted as well, if not downright anti-social, so I can empathise with your comments Brian. As for travelling; we do have our caravan and, before the lockdown, had planned to take our Bromptons with us to Holland for touring the Tulip fields and Amsterdam. We do not have facilities for ‘proper bikes’ but taking our Bromptons is relatively easy and we see them as the real ‘proper bikes’ anyway, do not need any other form of bicycle! I can offer a couple of tips. 1. On one occasion when someone got me to stop but left me feeling suspicious, I dismounted from the opposite (right) side of the bike, putting the bike between me and them. Nothing happened, but I did feel a bit safer. 2. The first two guys who were to go around the world on modern bikes describe the most dangerous part of their experience in Across Asia on a Bicycle. Often they were traveling in areas troubled by bandits. Their solution was to move fast and keep moving. If you're in a similarly dubious situation, get through it quickly

Being enthused with a machine , whether an airplane, Ferrari, or Bromton, you really do have to keep things in perspective that material things do not bring true happiness. Some joy and pleasure, certainly, but not overtly moving our souls to a peak of life's experiences. Of all material possessions I've owned through years, not one has given me lasting love or peace or happiness--they are merely distractions from an inner love for life and love not found in objects. Keep your affections in check and work on being a better you. Still, bikes are fun, fun, fun.

The only thing I know about Denver is from the old film: "Things to do in Denver, when you are dead"! But in Denmark even minor roads are also cleaned from snow, though not as fast as the larger ones, and we use a lot of salt on our roads, to avoid icy conditions. Salt isn't good for cars or bikes, so I mostly avoid riding during winter (As a now pensioner it isn't that essential any more). And I intend to spray rust prevention inside the frame, as also my last car has got from when I bought it in 2019. But if possible, try a trip to Denmark where we have a totally different approach to people using bikes as transport. We have special Bike Highways through and to and from the town, and a bridge only for walkers and bikes across the harbor in Cph! The last Ambassador to Denmark, Carla Sands (Trump!!) had the idea that it was because Danes couldn't afford to buy cars, but even as a now basic Pensioner we, my wife and I still have a rather new car. And a Brompton! + several other bikes. 😁 Finn. Denmark

@@ibikeunfolded OK buy two wheels for your Brompton. And get to work in half the time. Ha ha.
@ivobagnara98604 жыл бұрын
One of the main reason I'm interested in buying a Brompton is because I've always travelled alot and I always missed my bike with me. I own a Strida (do you know it?). I Love my Strida so much. It's been my first and only small wheels bike. It's so simple and it's got no greasy parts (it doesn't have a chain but a rubber similar to the one used in car's engines), it's light, no gears but it's such pleasure to ride for me. I can fold it in 10 secs and I can carry with me but it cannot get as small as the Brompton does. Can you really take it as hand luggage on a plane? That would definitely make a huge difference..

I know of strida, I thought it was definitely and unusual bike that’s for sure. I thought the handle bars where a little too close to the seat for my liking, but it has a neat design. You can take the Brompton as carry on(most airlines)? But there are some that will give you problems that’s why it’s nice to have a case. In CASE you have to check it.😂

What phone holder do you use?
@ibikeunfolded3 жыл бұрын
I did not have a phone holder attached to the bike in that video, just my Garmin. I don’t really like phone holders that attach to my bike because I never seem to find a quality one.

I have many cameras. I use several go pros, a canon g7xm2, a DJI Osmo action, a 360 camera, a canon 77d and a couple more I use from time to time.

What type of bag do you have in the video please? Thanks!

The touring or (T bag). There is an older version and a newer version, and I liked the older version best because it has a cup holder.

@@ibikeunfolded Thank you! I can't find any of them online. Apparently they've been discontinued and replaced by a new range of bags.

Hi, after enjoying a few of your well made videos, I realized that you don't seem to mention Brompton's e-bike at all. Why? I am considering buying one and am interested in your opinion? Thank you very much.
@ibikeunfolded4 жыл бұрын
I will be doing a video on the Brompton e bike soon. I don’t mention them because I personally have no interest. I like manual bikes myself, but I will still review it for all that are interested. It is a great E bike.

Genuine question: what’s the difference between a Commuting folding bike (say it costs $300) and a Brompton costing at least 3 times more? Why would one need to spend that much money on a Brompton? Why can’t a normal and cheap brand do?
@ibikeunfolded4 жыл бұрын
Fold much smaller for one, the cheaper folding bikes have 20 in wheels and don’t fold as small. Better materials and workmanship is another. Many many testimonials of people who have had their bromptons for decades and they are still rolling down the road. Parts availability is another thing. The cheaper folding bikes are regarded as “disposable”, so if any proprietary parts fail, you might as well throw away the bike because those parts are not available. All Brompton parts are available to repair your bike in the event of damage or failure. The list goes on and on.

why it wrote “poisoned to death in the morning” on your left neck?
@ibikeunfolded2 жыл бұрын
Really?? I thought it said “have a nice day”. 😬😟
@osmondwong5082 жыл бұрын
@@ibikeunfolded yes really. 「死」 means death ( dying or death ). 「毒」 means poison , noun or verb. 「辰」 is less common in daily conversation, but in general it has 2 major meaning, one is the time range between 7 am and 9 am, like historical ways for Chinese to say the time. the other meaning of 「辰」 is “the time of…” so either way it is like “being poisoned to death in the morning” or “it is now the time of being poisoned to death”

I just have only seen old people in trailer parks using this bike. I guess if I lived in a city I might consider this but I doubt it....just too ugly and corney looking. I have a Cube Stereo Ebike and love it but I live out in the country and use it daily on trails and in the dirt!
@ibikeunfolded4 жыл бұрын
They only look ugly to you because you are used to what a bike usually looks like. Once you get over the whole it looks silly thing and actually ride one, you would be amazed by how great this bike actually is. Then you will come to love the way it looks.
