I have used chalk pastels on my postage collage stencils. Basically I started with q tips, I think you call them. We call them cotton buds in Australia! I can leave the pastel in the box and just rub along it too get the colour. I use crystal coat (a lot of artists just use hair spray, but I bought mine before I knew about that!) to set the colour. The colours are gorgeous! I'd like some sentiment dies, but from experience I know I don't always like what I buy...

I always find it amusing the differences we have between the uk and US. A7 for us is half of A6. Your A7 is just 5x7 to us. I do wonder why we’ve never standardised these things. The world is a much smaller place now so you’d think it would be easy to standardise. But then, which standard would be applied? Enough philosophy 😂! These are lovely

thanks for showing the different sizes. The A6 is, however , not the metric A6. The metric A6 is half an A4 folded in half and is 10.5 cm x 14.8cm approx (4 ⅛"x 5⅞") . In Australia, most of the cardstock we get is A4 and only imported card is a different size..... all very confusing for those crafters who don't get numbers

As an European fan of your videos I always get confused by the american A-standard sizes. I looked it up: there’s no correspondence whatsoever between American and European A-size-measurements. Your smallest size is even smaller than the smallest size which is A6 in the European A-standards (4.1x5.8 inch) (well the width anyway). I’m often concerned this size is a bit tiny and therefore less impactful. It is refreshing to see you use that size often! Makes me rethink my perspective! As always: thank you for sharing! Your videos are much appreciated🙏🏻
@faithtester22178 ай бұрын
I agree that it's a real pain that our A4 paper isn't the same as the American letter size paper. So their A2(A6) don't fit in our envelopes. However what I find the biggest problem is that their layering dies are the wrong proportion and won't centre nicely. I've found a KZbinr called Michelle Zindoft and she is great for not centering her toppers and is really worth checking out . Happy card making😀
@DanielRBeach8 ай бұрын
In the USA the A2 size is generally our standard size. It is 5.5 x 4.25. One sheet of our standard size copy paper or card stock (which is 8.5 X 11) will make two cards. We can cut it in half vertically or horizontally to get 2 cards. A6 is generally 4.5 x 6.25 and A7 is the 5 x 7 cut. all in inches. I have noticed that European card makers do a lot of square cards. If we put square cards in square envelopes, we pay additional postage. So we could do square cards and put them in our standard A2 to A7 envelopes at regular postage. I don't do square cards because of the extra postage, but I should start doing them to fit our standard envelopes. Where in Europe are you?

Nina from Waffle Flower in a video posted 05 Jan 2024 discusses the measurements of their layering dies. And clarifies that the WFC A6 layering dies are not the equivalent of the EU/UK A6. Wish I'd known before I'd bought them, thinking they would make layering on A6 (UK) card blanks easier. To add to card size confusion, the EU/UK A7 is actually half of our A6 ie 7.4 x 10.5 cm, roughly 3 x 4 inches. Not 5 x 7 inches.😂 Though we do get 5 x 7 card blanks. I generally make 6 x 6 or 5 x 7, so good to see Jennifer and other YT content creators making 5 x 7
@AnnPrimrose7 ай бұрын
It's really a pain.... that the American A6 is even more different to the European A6, than A2 is. I make all my cards in European A6, because A4 paper is way cheaper and easier to find than letter size. But then the nested and plate covers never fit 😢 our cards are 4.1" x 5.9", so less wide than A2 but taller and way smaller than American A6
@dfwscrapper6 ай бұрын
I always make either A2 or A7 size cards and if they are bulky, I write nonmachinable on the envelope and add extra postage. Recently, I’ve had an A2 and A7 card returned to me for extra postage and neither was bulky. When I asked my local post office about it, they had no explanation and couldn’t offer any advice about how to prevent it from happening again. Sooooo frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem?
