This is really game changer due to illustrator work with vectors, also when using SCATTER brushes, they tend to use vectors to draw lines. Which increases the processing of your computer. Adding masks and layers it is a really smart solution to this problem

Great video. One problem. What size is your canvas because the size dictates the size of the granules in the grain effect.

@@tt_tutorials When you select an object and opens the appearance panel, you can add another fill in the same object. I was asking myself if I could use a second fill for the texture, instead of making a new layer and use it as a mask. Hope I made it clear?

Can someone explain to me what is the benefit of creating an additional object and then also creating a mask? When you can add a new fill to the original object and then simply apply gradient directly from the darker colour to zero opacity and also the grain texture directly to the fill. This way you don't deal with two separate object and also don't deal with the masks and jumping back and forth between normal and mask mode in transparency window. I just don't get it, why everyone's doing it this way
