I think the most important part of becoming more cultured is by being surrounded by these kinds of people. My parents are my examples- they both love to go to the theatre and they can spend a lot of time discussing plays with one another. I am very sure that they know all the actors in all the theaters in my city. They can discuss plays with one another for hours! You do not have to have a large circle of like-minded people, sometimes it is nice to have just one with whom you can share your interests in culture. Otherwise, it can feel a bit lonely if no one really cares about learning another language or being excited about classical music concerts. The most important thing is that you do it because it makes you very, very happy, so happy that it is just a part of your life, a part of who you are.

I agree. I wish I knew more people who had an appreciation for artistic and intellectual pursuits. Interest in these things seems to be so lacking in the population at large. Most people I know are consumed with mindless TV shows, sports, and micromanaging their kids' lives. It is rare that I meet someone who shares any of my interests and with whom I can have a stimulating conversation. It does feel lonely, as you said.

I am fluent in Spanish, enjoy marching band performances, go to an average of 2 Broadway shows a year with my husband, and I crochet. I hope to learn more languages, remember how to play the flute and piccolo again, and start earning more belts in Tae Kwon Do in the future.

I enjoyed the video. My interests regarding culture involve devouring books, videos, webcasts and fb groups that promote knowledge on femininity, social graces, etiquette, relationships, healthy marriages and more. Society appears to have taken a turn for the worse therefore I believe it is more important than ever to treat people with respect. Don't get me started on that soapbox! Again, thanks for sharing.🌹

Last summer I took a renewed interest in knitting so I learned loom knitting from KZbin. I enjoyed knitting as a child but never cultivated it. So I've made chic and stylish beanie hats and scarf for my mother and (20 something) nephew. I made the one for my nephew with Camo print yarn and my mother's from metallic Black and Gold yarn. They loved them and the here's the cherry on top; strangers stop and asked where they bought them. Well that's a self esteem boast and an incentive to continue learn this art form. Thank you again for your lovely and insightful advice. Btw, I love all the arts you mentioned in this video. It's encouraging to know that others do as well.

French is really hard to learn, but I’ve also been really interested in being fluent. It’s great you’re at conversational level.

Me too!! It is so sad how few people appreciate jazz these days. I worry for the future of good music.

Hello, always nice to see you & listen to your videos. As a child, I played flute/piccolo. I'm actually starting to practice so I can perform again (with other fellow former performers). I enjoy museums, libraries, going to the ballet, classic music & especially Opera. Wonderful video 😍❣️. Thank you. Cheers 😉 🌷

Hi, I'm fluent in french and I play tennis and run regularly. To stay creative, I embroider and see a play about two times a year. I'm currently working on learning higher vocabulary and mastering geography.

being grateful, and doing so I learned that from traveling all over the world. Traveling to countries like Peru, Costa Rica, and other places , helped me to be more exposed and appreciative of what I have.

Thank you for this vlog. You should also learn Spanish, especially since you live in America, specifically Texas. French is such a beautiful and elegant language. ☺
