Hi. Thanks for this great video! Really appreciate it. I experience something. If I click stop in Ableton or Logic while syncing clock over MIDI, Mother 32 LEDs become corrupt. Everything works ok but the leds. Please try, stop the running sequence of Mother 32 using a DAW’s stop button. Then try to erase sequence, change octave, anything. Is it my mother32 or a firmware issue, I do not know. Best regards.

Ive never been able to work out how to do this in 20+ years of recording with Logic. Im going to have to try your way. Ive got 5 x M32s, 2 DFAMS and a Subharmonicon. All I want is to press Record on Logic and for all these synths sequencers to run and record in perfect time. The only way Ive been able to do it so far is to Tap Tempo each individual unit to the metronome in Logic. Which as you can imagine is very much trial and error. Usually error 😊. This shouldn’t be that difficult but, as I said, Logics sync options have always mystified me 🤷‍♂️ My audio interface only has one USB and Im using that elsewhere so I can only do this with MIDI DIN cables.

Another solution I can’t remember if I mentioned it in this video is to get a good midi sequencer with multiple channels like the Korg sq 64 or the Arturia Keystep pro or beatstep pro. You can connect those to clock sync to your DAW and then control all the steps from the controller instead of the Moog hardware synths internal sequencers (which are not the best imo)

@@Tiger.Arcade I wondered about that too. Will do some investigation! I got 3 of the units ticking along together earlier. However, after 2 x 16 step sequences the timing began to drift again. Very frustrating. Ive got a big Moog book on the way which is centred around the Matriarch, Grandmother, and the 3 racks. Hoping there might be a solution in there 🤞🏼. Its annoying, as I can imagine just how cool that gear would all sound if it was synced up and running properly. Update : Been hunting around and remembered Ive got one of those Keystep Pro keyboards. That would do it wouldn’t it ? Its got 4 independent sequencers/arpeggiators in it.

So mother will be the master clock. Send clock output in patchbay to the multi then one to subh and other to dfam. There’s different ways to do it.

However, neither Sub nor DFAM can then be synced to Mother-32 via CV. There does not seem to be a clock output from Mother-32 to the others. Am I missing something? Thanks again, very cool channel!

I think there’s a 4th option - use a midi router. It connects via usb, and then you connect your midi devices
