My shih tzu did not like the Absorber towel, at first, and seemed to try to get away from it when I pulled it out after a bath. It is somewhat a cool temperature when it comes out of the tube ...I then discovered she was temperature sensitive... I now rinse the towel in warm water first, wring it out and then start to use it...This worked perfectly and no problems ..and it is a great product. I bought 2. Also, so glad you pointed out to never use cage drying. When choosing a groomer, I always encourage friends to ask "up front", if cage drying is used...If the answer is yes, then run the other way.

I would be afraid of the HV dryer for my little 5 lb. Maltese, TwinkleBelles. Just today, with the high winds in the Midwest, TwinkleBelles actually blew OFF the ground when I was trying to walk her. Until I learned of The Absorber towels from Amy, drying time for TwinkleBelles was VERY long and EXTREMELY tiring. It could still stand to be improved as her ears and face are long and just take forever (I won't concentrate air at her head primarily due to fear of hearing loss or hair blowing in and scratching eyes). I use a Conair Infinity Pro 3Q people dryer on her as it has dependable cool setting super blowing but her head, ears, and legs are all of very long hair and nothing I've tried really works well for them. I've often thought of the dryers I've purchased for my own hair for the last half a century which have half brush and comb attachments but get way too hot to use on a critter. I use as I've naturally curly hair and the ONLY way to dry and style it is with such a dryer. It takes care of business fast and I've envisioned that someone should create such type a dryer for our FurBabies. Needless to say, I think I'm going to try that dryer with the slicker attachment on TwinkleBelles. If it doesn't get hot it might be just what I need to dry her long hair nicely! I wash her legs and feet every time she goes outside as well and it surely spoils the whole experience when I have to make her stand still to get her legs blow dried everytime. This product may be just what I'm looking for! Of course I'll post on the Go Groomer Facebook page what my results are. 😊

I've just started grooming my 11yro. English Pointer/Springer & my 6 month old Cocker Spaniel & have been using my own handheld dryer on a low, warm setting after I towel them off with the absorber towels, then I finish drying them with the dryer on the "cool" setting to make sure their body temperature stays "normal". I use lukewarm water with Tropiclean Whitening Shampoo on both of them as I use the nylon bath sponge now instead of their rubber-massager to work the shampoo down to their skin. (and my fingers too, around their faces.) Angel, my 6month old has the "eye tear" problem which I've tried the blueberry mask on, soft cotton pads dampened with warm & cool water, the whitening shampoo keeping it away from her eyes so that it doesn't get IN her eyes, and have been giving her the daily vitamins the breeder told me to keep her on, tried coconut oil off & on (a 1/2 -1 teaspoon each day, and 5-10 fresh blueberries with her Fresh Pet dogfood. She STILL gets the drainage! Any advice on what else I can do to get rid of the gunk? Should I get her on an antihistamine or a probiotic? I've given her 5ml. of Children's Benadryl a few times, and her ears seemed better, not as itchy or painful when I gave it to her. But didn't see a lot of change in re: to her eyes getting better. Getting rid of pain & itchiness & swelling in her ears is my priority, but I feel like her eyes getting like this is a sign of something else going on in her little body & it's is caused by a root problem. Or, maybe she will outgrow it, or, hopefully not, but if we find out she needs her eye ducts opened up surgically, then we will do that!

kennel dryers arnt as bad as they seem problem is most groomrs leave it and forget it but if you have a brachycephalic breed ( flat face dogs such as pugs boxers shih Tzu... they should never be kennel dried) but i would ask your groomer if those dogs are being monitored in the kennel and how often, there risks with everything i agree force drying is the most effective and safe but that's with pups that tolerate it, not many are fond of the noise and sensation and over forcing them may lead to seizers so training from a young age is key if the dog is to stressed sometimes kennel drying maybe the only option specially for those large dogs with long hair or double coats but she's awesome and has some great tips but what i may recommend is cage drying in a wire kennel not in a wooden one with 3 wall and a door so its not enclosed literally then its quite similar to a natural breeze just targeting a general area so there is practicality to a tool but just need to make sure not to use it wrongly or lazily

I have a 'Desk Top Heater' at my desk (work). After a while I have to remove my layers and then after another while, I have to turn the _heater_ off because I am now TOO HOT and yes I do have to turn it back on EVENTUALLY! Just think about if I couldn't do that for myself, to me that's how these animals feel. You have that heat blowing on them the entire time and they can't get away from it. Isn't your BUILDING heated?! Unless it's needed for an animal suffering from some kind of malady due to COLD, turn it off (or turn it down WAY LOW) and let the room temperature (and a blanket) keep them warm thru the nite.
@GoGroomer Жыл бұрын
Our dryers have adjustable heat. Do you think we try to suffocate dogs???? That’s insane! Does your hair dresser use a dryer to dry your hair? Does your hair stylist burn your head??? No they do not. Take it easy my friend, we are concerned about the dogs we groom throughout the entire grooming process. We work with dogs because we love caring for them. I hope you understand that!
