How about a "how to do a sanitary trim" course? After paws, I think that's one a lot of people might appreciate. At least those with fluffy dogs. According to my vet, Miss Fluffy Britches, my Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix, should be getting regular sanitary trims of her booty fluff. She has a nasty UTI right now. Problem is, she's very afraid of the vet and I'm assuming will fear groomers too. And where I live, they want $100 just to do the sanitary trim, nothing else. Not even including a nail trim.

With my lack of Dexterity, meaning the flexibility of my arms and hands, I would not even try it! At least, with our dogs, we never had to do their nails. The Sidewalk wore them down enough. In so far as Toe Pads, I had never seen or heard of that done until I started watching your videos. I guess, that would have taken care of their, "Popcorn Paws"! (They always smelled like popcorn.).

I don't think the owners groomed his coat on a regular basis. I had two Pyrenees and they do take a lot of maintenance, bathing and drying would take all day. As soon as we finished, we would let her go outside, she would then roll around in the dirt or mud then stand up with a look of complete satisfaction on her face. The male on the other hand would go outside, do the necessary, come back into the house with a look of arrogance and snobbery all over his face. This made us laugh because when she comes back into the house, the look he gave her was a look of .........'you disgust me, don't come near me'.😂😂😂😂 Ps They both passed away a long time ago but I still miss them.

Maybe you should find another pastime :) It's clear that they at least kept him brushed, even if not bathed. His coat would have been significantly more dirty, disgusting, and difficult to deal with had they not put in the effort to brush him. No mats at all! I'm glad they reached out to get him bathed, and hopefully now by seeing the results they pick up this habit as well. But that's certainly no reason to go out of your way to be nasty :)

I just lost our dog, Polar, along with my loving man, in a horrific car accident. She was a Great Pyrenees. She survived initially, but when she went to check and smell my boyfriend after help had arrived, she chose to pass along with him when she found he had gone. I lost my family on December 1st. Polar protected our mountain, our cats and chickens, our plants, and of course, she was committed to my honey & I. I miss them and can barely get by without them. There are some videos on my channel of her on our mountain and following along the atv, laying in the water...I miss them so much. Pyrenees are protectors & lovers.

A golden opportunity for a local spa - they should provide Vanessa with FOC massages once per month - they could video the massage (Vanessa's body would need to be discreetly covered or blurred for the video) but we could hear her moans of relief as an expert masseuse works his/her magic on her exhausted muscles. The spa would get great coverage for their business and Vanessa, who grooms FOC, would get regular, professional FOC TLC. 😂😂

My very first apt. Landlord lived in the basement and his pyraneese was obsessed with me. Silently followed me to a corner store one day and sat politely outside. When I came out was like holy f this beast has no collar or anything and weighs at least 30 more pounds than me. But he followed me home no issue. Another time I went down to pay rent but I tripped down the stairs. Stood up to get pinned against my (hot) landlord's front door yelling Jeffffff! getting humped by his dog. I could see him thru the window laughing so hard he could barely breathe and was stumbling to come save me due to lack of oxygen.

The fact that his fur had no matting at all IS a testament to how loved Nigel is. It’s clearly a Herculean task to brush a boy that big.

Many years ago we adopted/rescued a wonderful Great Pyrenees. His name was Noble. We loved that dog, and the lady we got him from was reluctantly giving him up because she lived on a busy city street, and the fence around her yard was less than 3 feet high. If you know anything about this breed, you know that was no obstacle for Noble We lived in the county, and we had a 6 foot privacy fence around our yard. Unfortunately, we learned after a couple of months that Great Pyrenees love to roam! This breed has a lot of floof, but they also can wiggle through a fairly small opening. Noble would butt his head against the fence until he knocked a couple of slats out. All the neighbors knew who Noble was, and I would get calls while at work that he was going walk about. We managed to rehome him to a friend who lived further outside city limits, and 10 years later we still miss him

God bless you for recognizing the need and finding him a good home! And you are on the nose! These dogs are not known for obedience at all, since they already know their job, so off leash and most fences will not work. I've rescued many and the brother of one of mine lives next door and does the "if I can get my nose under, I can get my 110 lbs through" amazing thing! Mine have always had respect for a fence AND are not left out for extremely long periods. And after 15+ years with no issues my 10 yr old has decided to climb the fence. She now has a tracker so I am alerted immediately and she hasn't gotten farther than 4 houses. (She will go weeks doing nothing and then make breaks 2x in one day! There's no predicting it!)I totally understand missing him but am grateful you put his safety first! ❤

Great Pyrenees are notoriously sensitive about their paws. Every time we bring home a GP puppy to watch our animals, my wife makes it a regular thing to massage their paws when they are little to desensitize them so nail care is easier when they are the size of dump trucks 😅
