There's one girl at my dance studio who never talks unless she really needs to, and even if she does she's always very quiet. Her facial expressions hardly ever change, she always just has a poker face. I've seen her smile literally once, and I see her almost every day (plus the dance studio is a mega fun place). Her arms are always crossed, and she stays away from everyone else. No one tries to go near her because they feel awkward with how shy and closed off she is, except for me. In fact, recently I've been trying to get her to open up. I got her number a few days ago thinking it would be easier for her to text, and so far it's working! She seems like a really nice person! I'm glad I saw this video and will implement these tips :)

As someone who's very shy myself, that question thing is definitely what makes all conversations I'm in work - even though I want to be more social with my friends, they basically end up starting all the conversations and I just respond and occasionally say something that relates to the conversation. Sometimes they are not shy, they just don't want to talk. I have been trying to make friends with a colleague of mine. I try to talk to him, take an interest in his culture even offered him food, but he either turns his back or walks away from me. It seems like he doesn't like me.

He doesn't just do it with me, but everyone. I have noticed he talked to someone of the same nationality as him. So, i think he only likes people from his culture.

Nice video, and good advice! However, I use a more uhh...creative way of befriending shy, or any kind of people. I play a game that I like to call "Play the Dumb", where I try to be that *ultra-positive* kid that isn't really bright, so he/she won't be that shy nervous to respond to my questions(usually it's a monologue). However, I would suggest not to use this method when you're around too many school/work colleagues, cause it will get very fricking awkward.

I think that my teacher is shy but he hides it by always being sarcastic and saying things that make him look like he's the best thing evolution could come up with. I am extremely shy so I can't talk to him at all. Sometimes it looks like he hates me but it might be just him covering up his insecurities. I can imagine that I look exactly the same, so we just silently judge each other 😂 His actions make me really confused and I don't know if he's shy or just a jerk 😂

That's literally my situation!! There's a shy and quiet guy in my tuition class and he barely opens up with anyone☹︎ I had to ask him for help with my notes- I'm actually a shy person who doesn't really like socializing with others but to be honest, he just looked so easy to approach so out of everyone, I asked him for help :) His cousin is friends with me and she told me that he has always been like that, the quiet type. He's such a reserved person and to be honest, this just makes me wanna befriend him and get to know him more. I'm not really confident when talking with others but I wanted to make him feel comfortable with me at least BUT I think I made him uncomfortable by being too talkative😭 well he was avoiding eye contact with me and would just nod/laugh awkwardly when I'm talking about something about m e. I asked him a few questions like "what's your hobby" and he didn't even know what a having a hobby means. So basically, he's the nerdy type! I have never met someone who's only interested in studying before! I wish I were smart enough to have intellectual talks with him :( maybe he would have been more interested in talking with me.

Hi I am 16 year old highschool student who had a pretty basic philosophy. I wouldn't waste my time with girls until I got older and off to college or so forth. Maybe just take little steps in getting more comfortable when being around her. Shyness is though and it won’t just go away. But you can definitely try to loosen your body language. Once you’re body feels chill and cool around her, just ask her about her day. Then maybe try to complimenting her actions, but just once or twice. Don’t over do it. Just a: hey, I think you did really great on [...]. Maybe that helps. Taking small steps. Maybe stepping up every week or something.

It wasn’t always easy, because he would bottle his feelings up and didn’t talk when he didn’t feel comfortable and stuff like that… so don’t do that if you happen to be in a relationship. Talk to your partner. Trust and communication is important. And they will always listen if they mean it serious. If they don’t… they are not it.

Hi can anyone help please, there is a girl at work and I’ve never met anybody as shy as her. She will spend her 12 hour shifts silent, looking at the floor, no expressions and it kills me every day, by the way she’s been with us for months now with no change, it’s even hard to get a yes no answer from her, if it’s a yes then she does the tiniest nod with little to no eye contact. I'm that shy person. I just wanted to say to those I see as friends and best friends that I always see you all as my fallen angels. Still can't forget the moment when I answer one of my classmate's questions about the reason why I do not talk and I simply answered "Because there is nothing for me to talk about." It's true though, there's nothing for me to talk about given that their interest does not match mine.
