Saw a bumblebee fighting for his life and successfully hauling himself out of a pool drain the other day... If a bee can fight that hard against odds that bad, us cones can too. Sometimes when it gets real bad I slow down my breathing and simulate a voice in my head that yells in my ear, "ARE YOU GONNA QUIT? YOU A QUITTER? IS THAT WHAT YOU ARE?" Always make sure to answer back in the negative to this phantom and you'll be golden.

Something that really helps me during a tough workout that i don’t think you mentioned is having a short saying or motto of your own that you can just repeat to yourself to motivate you or take your mind off of the pain and focus on that positive instead of the negative that’s pulling you down at the moment

Something that gets me through those crucially difficult times is thinking about all the adversities I've gone through to get where I am today. I find that each of those painful memories just builds on one another and is utilized as a fuel source to not quit now. Or ever. #BurnTheBoats

Thanks for the content. I turned 30 this year and left the National Guard about 6 years ago. Started training a couple of weeks ago and go to MEPS next week. After getting my college degree and spending a few years as just a civilian, I just feel like I need more in my life. I feel like I need to do something special and something for other people. We'll see if I still have it in me. #burntheboats

Something that has always helped me threw my hard times is just snipping the mental safety tethers to anything outside the current activity. Fully imurse yourself in that moment and Brun the Boats for everything other than success.

Thanks a lot Brian, been struggling to get my composure/motivation back following the death of someone close to me. I understand I will face adversity in this field, the end of this video has helped get that motivation I needed for the future.

One thing that I don't hear many people talking about in the various selection courses is sleep deprivation. Could you perhaps create a video of tips to survive severe sleep deprivation while still being expected to perform in land and water evolutions?

I know there is a lot of competition, but I want nothing more in life than to be Pararescue and save lives. My worst fear is that I am not trying hard enough, thanks for making the content that gives me the drive to keep working toward my goals :)

Also I noticed if you make a promise to someone or a group of people (best friends) that you are close to and love that you will get through something hard, you will not give up because you made a promise to them. Make sure you make the promise to the ones closest to you and have the biggest impact on you emotionally.

Thank for the words Bryan. I’m starting A&S in May for SR. I’ve seen some of the best and toughest dudes I know eliminated in the last 2 selections and have had moments of doubt myself. I’ve also seen guys I would have never thought had a chance still fighting on. It seems mindset is the most important factor in the equation. How do you stay positive when there’s no denying that 4 weeks of torture sucks? How do you keep from losing sight of the end goal? Thanks again.

@@ryanbavier2450 Well, so there's the side stroke and then there's the combat side stroke... which aren't exactly the same. I'm just curious if they are both allowed.

Your allowed to do the combat side stroke, breast stroke, and freestyle. Pretty much every thing goes as long as you don't turn to your back or stop on the wall.

@#BrianSilva QUESTION... I JUST finished watching all of your videos... I discovered you about 2 months ago and just got caught up. I turn 25, June 3rd and have been training to PJ grad standards for the past 4 months.. I bought an ASVAB prep book and received a 73 on the ASVAB practice online(NO RECRUITER). I have not seen a recruiter yet though I have been studying and training regularly. You seem like a good person to gravitate toward for questions about what to do next. Im from Arlington, TX and am curious of if there are any recruiters you know from or near base where I should start? Im motivated and ready start my career with the US Air Force. I appreciate everything you helped me learn and appreciate your mediumship in these times of transition, Sir. Thank you.

As a PJ or another Special Warfare Airman (CCT/SR) do you learn a new language? Is that available? I heard Army SF does that. Just curious since it's Spec Ops.

I haven't found the answer to this anywhere, you may be able to include it in a future video but here goes. What do you do in between schools while you are going through the pipeline? From my understanding you are stationed at kirtland but you also are not trained for your job yet so is it alot of PT and some support work, is this a decent time to take leave periodically to see family? Just curious, hope you can give some insight into it. Thanks!

so this has nothing to do with the video but more a question on improving myself physically, i am not a strong swimmer, in fact in my own opinion i see myself as a terrible swimmer, i was wondering on how i can improve myself to be a strong swimmer without endangering my body, but pushing myself past my own shadow. this next part probably should have been said first but i got a call from a special operations scout and he seems to believe i have the potential mentally from when we talked, but he knew i didnt have the confidence to pass right now. i would like to hear any opinions on the matter and how i could train myself to be a strong swimmer or at least a great swimmer. i cant be an ok swimmer sadly XD

Trey Hebert Watch some KZbin videos on a proper form while swimming, and how to breath. They have a lot of pointers that will get you started. Spend a lot of time in the pool! If that doesn’t help, look into signing up for some private lessons.
