How would you compare the daily lives of a CRO/PJ attached to an STS squad vs a RQS squad? You said that the STS operator needs to be more squared away and know what they're doing a little bit better. What would be the main mission of the RTS operator? Obviously, RQS operators would be solely devoted to rescuing people, but what about the STS operator? SEAL's and CCT aren't necessarily devoted to pulling people out of the fire or what have you.

That’s not for someone else to answer, unfortunately. That’s up to you. Do you want to have a relationship while going through a program that requires almost 100% time and dedication for 2 years? @t83685 жыл бұрын
Yes you will most likely at some point in your career have to shoot someone pjs fly in helicopters with .50 machine guns if a plane got shot down and your trying to save the pilot then there is a possibility that there will be hostiles at the plane. While I get the premise of not wanting to kill anyone you are joining the military so no matter what job you do you will have to accept the fact that you might have to kill a man or they just might kill you
@louievxli82315 жыл бұрын
Well if you going to a place where people are shooting at you, make a choice are you going to shoot back so that your brothers can live or just freeze and not shoot back the saying “that others may live” is meaning that you will defend the wounded and save others by using your tools (your rifle) to get them home because in the end it’s either you or the enemy that lives
@dallasyap30643 жыл бұрын
Only fire/kill when being fired upon by the enemy. PJs (in the RQS) dont go out deliberately to kill bad guys, their primary job is to save. But if they are landing at a hostile area with enemy engaging u then u are gonna have to shoot back and kill them. If u are a STS PJ, that means u will be joining other SOFs to go out and conduct operations (probably kill but depends) against enemy where u most likely need to kill enemies.

So are PJ's technically called Rescue Specialists or Rescue Technicians? I know that City firefighters are like rescue specialists because they do technical rescue (USAR,surface water rescue, dive rescue/recovery)Someone asked me if PJs are soldiers but I heard that PJs only use small arms weapons for CSAR with no hand-to-hand combat training either
@dakotas93935 жыл бұрын
Would like some first hand knowledge on this as well.
@dallasyap30643 жыл бұрын
I dont think there is any official term for it. But they are understood as rescue specialists or rescue experts. Rescue technician is a general term for someone working in rescue jobs. Rescue specialist or rescue experts are generally known for those with more specialized technical skills and trades. Technically PJs are called airmen bcoz they are members of the Air Force. And no they dont just use small arms, they also carry rifles, M4 and other long automatic rifles along with small arms. PJs do get hand to hand combat training but not as much or as focus compared to other SOFs.

Brian is and always will be extremely supportive and answer all questions check him out @ Beapj.com. I also suggest others who wanna be a PJ to look at his gear/training recommendations. His recommendations have given me inspiration, motivation and have also made this process easier. He has a lot of info on the new PAST Test also. Thanks Brian and all.

Hi Bryan I’m pursuing becoming a PJ and it’s my dream a huge dream but it’s not my only dream , I have a huge concern though within going in . I would like to go to medical school because I want to become an Orthopedic Surgeon after getting out , I know pj’s can go on reserves too and I wanted to know if I can be active say during the summer go on a 6 month deployment and the next 18 months study at med school well on reserves and just hit the base once or twice a month for training. ? Is this possible or feasible ?

Can you be a PJ with a 4 year contract?
@dakotafurrow50264 жыл бұрын
I need some thoughts so I am thinking of doing 2 CSAR/SAR jobs: AIRR and PJ I am thinking if I DO AIRR for 7 years since the whole pipeline is 1 year then transfer to the Air Force and become a PJ. What do you think?

AIRR rarely conduct any rescue. Their primary job is helicopter aircrew, but they conduct rescue in ocean if have to, but a current AIRR told me its very rare to conduct ocean rescue to retrieve ejected fighter jets pilots.

r u a pj or former?
@t83685 жыл бұрын
So I got a question is cct training and pj training the exact same or is 1 a little easier then the other (I'm really bad in water so I was wondering which 1 maybe had less water training in it) though I would still go the route I'm taking even if it involves more water
@khaias78225 жыл бұрын
t 8 they are not the same at all. Two different pipelines. Both hard in their own ways.
@dallasyap30643 жыл бұрын
Like KHAIAS said they're both hard in their own ways. Statistically CCTs have a higher fail rate. But PJs training is much longer. So if u are a guy that cant handle being in a tough training for too long, then u would struggle in PJ training bcoz its almost 2 years long. And PJ training deals a lot with water (both as much and as hard as Navy SEALs swim & water training) especially its indoc (now A&S), so like u said u are bad in water, so u probably will struggle in PJ training more. Note: U will eventually need to attend the Air Force Combat Diver Course which is 6 weeks no matter u go CCT or PJ, difference is in PJ u attend the course during the pipeline, in CCT u attend it after the pipeline.

Alex miller it is not (technically). The US opened all special ops jobs to females. Has there been a female PJ? No. Could there be? Yes.

In case of a terrorist attack on the White House would PJs come to rescue the president or not?
@0z3725 жыл бұрын
Samir Yankey I was thinking the same exact thing but I don’t think so. I not sure but I think he has his own type of secret service unit that specializes in rescue operations I’m not sure about it though but I have heard it from a police officer when I was attending a event.
@ZeeCapp5 жыл бұрын
No it would most likely be the secret services while SWAT would probably come in as well since it's a terrorist attack or whatever plus the president is usually surrounded by a few marines because they take orders straight from the president
