Sure, I’m currently using Duel X8. Yozuri super braid and Shimano kairiki, grappler are great choices. I think they are available at Cabral outdoors. Powerpro slick 8s were my choice earlier. I'm getting started with baitcasting, both fresh and saltwater. After the very first like 20 throws it was a mess but around 100 throws i already felt super confident, no backlashes, grest distance and extreme accuracy. What i can say is that after a long day of spinning, my wirst hurts. After a long day of baitcasting i feel complitely fine! I'm loving it! ❤

I'm trying to learn how to use my dad's old Silstar Starlite II, thing uses pretty thick line compared to modern reels so is challenging (0.35-0.45mm) I do remember him casting way further with it than I could with our spinning reels. waiting for new line so trying to learn in the menwhile

Sounds good, like everything else in life start slow and take it easy. Distance and accuracy will come eventually, focussing on a getting used to the gear is a good start. All the best!

I reckon apart from the heavier gauge line it is probably still miles above a budget reel in performance and reliability... THey sure knew how to build them back then. busy doing a stripdown, clean and repaint on another of their reels from about the same year today (actually worked on it till 3am this morning. @@OmisFishing
