Before using the 2000 grit you used Steel Wool. Did you use 0000 Steel Wool? Also, why use 3-in-1 oil instead of car or vegetable oils?

Hi, after using barkeepers friend, does the plate have to still be degreased? or just cleaned with rubbing alcohol? Thanks!

I've started using Barkeepers Friend as part of the degreasing process and it seems to polish/degrease at the same time. After washing the bar keepers friend off with water I still follow up with the salt/vinegar/water bath to finish the degreasing process.
