On the Samsung Galaxy S7, you can also take a screen shot by swiping the full edge of your hand left or right across the screen. Once an image of the screen has been captured, you will see a light blue border around the screen for 3 seconds. During this time, a menu will appear at the bottom of the screen allowing you to Scroll Capture (for capturing an entire web page that's longer than your display size), Draw, Crop and Share. For the swipe method, you may have to go into the settings menu, scroll down to "Motion" and choose "Motions and gestures", then tap "Palm swipe to capture." It's a lot easier to use than the two-button method.

then you should use the Assistant method

You're holding the home button too long before adding the Vol. Dwn. button. Press them very close to the same time.. but..!, the home button just before the Vol.

You don't realize how much you use the darn screen shot, UNTIL YOU DON'T HAVE IT. 🤣 My home button on my refurbished edge (cheap older phone but I love love love it ) is either malfunctioning or they took away power on, hit home screen buttons, to take a screen shot. The power button and volume down button works. Yay

For those that dont work press the down volume button and turn off button at the same time but click it do not hold it, then you will have a screen shot, hope this made stuff a little bit clear since i seen many saying it won't work :)

A recent update on my One Plus 6T (android), disappeared my screenshot button which used to appear after holding the power button. Your tip of briefly pushing volume down and power buttons together works better than before because there's no little pop up button to get in the way, just instant screenshot. THANK YOU !!!

Thanks! But would't it be a lot simpler to just add a "screenshot" button option button? Right next to all of the other b.s. option buttons, that don't really make any sense. Hold volume down & press power, who's idea was that, i wonder? Why not up two times on the volume, while holding the power button? Just opinions.

My Flintstones era LG is a post smart phone, pre-droid era jammer. So its got that old reliable, early generation quality engineering going for it. The kind that occasionally happens with new technology. Like old ipods or Cadillacs used to be, it just keeps going, maybe cars are a bad example, but anyone older than the internet knows what i mean. Point is all snapshots I've taken with this phone were unintentional, but i am a stuh-dut tho, & We all know a duh dunt da dunt 😂
