I think this is the best-explained uses for embossing folders I've seen lately. I loved the first one with double-embossing the best, simply because I'd never seen it done before. Using a brayer with the white pigment ink might ensure you just hit the very highest points. I love the yellow and white together!

Fab techniques. I've used the pigment ink and the background color techniques before, but not the double embossing. It makes sense to do the 3d on top of a 2d. I love the way these all turned out. Thanks for sharing.

Great tips ! Love the double folder tech and the dark paper with white ink to highlight. The folder samples on rings is such a daunting task for me I have 4 bins ☺️. I have used the ink on the embossing folder.😊

Thanks so much! I can imagine the task of cataloging your folders with be overwhelming with that many folders. I would suggest doing it in manageable chunks - may 10-12 at a time. You will see progress and that will hopefully keep you going. Good luck!

I love using embossing folders. I've made a ton with the inks as you did. Some I've done with inka gold paints... That's really pretty! My problem is after making them I'm not sure about using them on my cards? I'm always afraid it will be too much. I'm fairly new to all this. I just started in December after getting a Sizzix big shot for Christmas. ❤ Thanks for the tutorial!

Thanks for watching. Go ahead and lay out a card using the backgrounds you created but don't add any adhesive. You can then check to see if what you have laid out fits the aesthetic you were going for. If it does - great! If it doesn't, you can make any changes you want. I use this process a lot and it never fails. Enjoy!

Is there a way you can use an embossing folder without a machine??

I'm not sure. I have never tried before. What you really need is the pressure that the die cutting machine applies. If you can think of a way to do that then you may be able to use an embossing folder without a die cutting machine. Good luck!
