Beautiful cards. I just love these new 3D embossing folders, they give such amazing dimension. I really like the colors you used. I’ve still never tried inking an embossing folders. I definitely need to try it. I’ve seen a lot of people take the ink pad direct to the folder. It looks like you get a smoother blend though using a brayer. I will definitely give this a try! Thank you for the wonderful inspiration.

Thank you so much! I was never very successful taking the ink pad directly to the embossing folder - the brayer did the trick for me :-)

Do you need a brayer that's not soft, or will any brayer work?

Beautiful cards! Do you think it would work if I lightly rubbed the ink pads across the embossing folder as I have allergy to rubber on the rollers? Thank you.
@MindyEggenDesign3 жыл бұрын
That works too. I had just found i got better coverage with a brayer especially for those small areas between the dandelion heads.
@karenmclaughlan9128 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mindy I have an embossing folder similar to the one you did pastel. How do you get the flowers to stay white and the background coloured like you did please. I tried it and the flowers were colored but I want them to stay white x
@MindyEggenDesign Жыл бұрын
only what I showed in the video which is using a rubber brayer to apply the ink over the one side of the embossing folder. Not the raised side of the embossing folder but the indented side. The brayer helps skim over the open areas

@@MindyEggenDesign Done it with a brayer didn't work too well

At 1:38, what is that little black gripper pad under your ink pad? And where do I find one for myself? I didn't see it listed in your supplies list.
@MindyEggenDesign3 жыл бұрын
it's actually just a small piece of shelf liner. I picked up mine from Simon Says Stamp one time but can't remember what it's called which is why I didn't list it lol ... but it's really just shelf liner

It is a non-slick surface that is heat resistant. Slick on one side and a grip on the other so it doesn't slide around. Can be purchased separately or comes with the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.

What is scratch paper? Is that the same as scrap paper?
@MindyEggenDesign3 жыл бұрын
scratch paper is pretty much just paper that's not really important to me lol. it can be copy paper or something you really didn't plan on doing anything with and won't mind it getting messy
