You should buy some goats and just fence off the ruin. They will eat almost everything and leave the buildings clear. To mow brambles, you need a blade that isn't flat it curves down at both ends so it looks like a cup shape when it spins.

Lilians mum already took a couple of goat curses in Germany 😅 she will for sure get some goats in spring. Yes, Luis told us about the blade. We immediately bought one of these and it was much better! Thank you for your advice! ☀️😬

Came here from 9gag. First of all congratulations on the beautiful property and living the dream life !! Obviously as a 9gagger I have to give you some armchair expert suggestions : 1) The bamboo grows fast and aggressively and even if you cut it, new ones will come from the roots. You need to remove the roots to truly get rid of it. Bamboo is also a great building material so use it where you can for making supports during construction and so on. 2) The drone is great for looking over your property. 3) Its important to sort out the water holding areas on both hills. With the crazy weather nowadays you cant say what will happen to the stream. Better to plan in advance to harvest and store water all over. 4) Plant mixed varieties of mosquito repellent plants all over your property. It will really help reduce the problem later. Catnip, Citronella and Ageratum floss flower are best. 5) Figure out the ideal pathways through the property and keep them in use during the restoration process 6) A Suzuki Jimny will be a great investment for internal transport. Its a small, nimble, capable and reliable 4*4 and not expensive. There is a slightly longer version that can have better cargo capacity. 7) Some sort of large mulching machine similar to a lawnmower will help clear the weeds and branches in open areas easily. For the other tight areas you might need to use a weed killer if its far from growing areas and is legal. 8) You can buy and spread earthworms in the growing areas to improve the soil quality and keep it aerated. 9) Lastly for the back wall of the Mill that has water seepage, You could dig around the foundation and cover it in waterproof cement. For the upper areas you get transparent waterproof coatings to seal it without spoiling the look of the stonework

Wow! I don’t know what to say.. Thank you so much for your support and advices. Actually our plan was to get rid of the roots. We found a good worker (well I think it is time to say „a friend“) that will do this. And we already built a pergola roof with it 🙂 We actually need to get to know the land better to fully understand what is necessary, it will take time for sure 😅🌿🫶🏼

It looks like you need to invite two hundred of your best friends to clear the foliage. Just kidding! Maybe just ten. It must be fun discovering something unexpected. Best to all! Stay safe.

Well that was fascinating to watch the old walls reappear from the brambles. Your plans for the site sound really good though it will obviously be an enormous amount of work. I will certainly be watching your videos.

Wow! What an opportunity, if a lot of work. Keep going and your channel will be one of the biggest of the Portugal ones, I think. You have such amazing land. And a special mention for the grape-eating dad, and for also looking like a hard worker in this video.
