3 year old cob is becoming dangerous! A beautiful 3 year old welsh cob is ready to start her riding career but the problem is she is now getting dangerous and unpredictable! Getting a bit in her mouth is also virtually impossible. This is a long visit for Steve but it had to be to make the changes needed steve-young-horsemanship.mysh...

Just remember it took Steve 40 years to learn all of this. It’s one thing to learn a technique but another thing to learn to control your emotions-which is equally important. Good luck. You are learning from the best!

I just watched you succeed with the mare I failed 30 years ago. I know that if I had known then what I’ve learned in the past few decades, she could have been the horse of a lifetime. Unfortunately, the attitude then/there was “make her do it” instead of make her want to do it. I thank you for all of the horses and riders you have shown a better way. ❤

Me too, every time I watch one of Steve’s video’s I say ….. wish I’d known then what I know now. ‘Broke my horse in’ but goodness, could have been a disaster, the only ground work I did was to lunge her and voice commands, went out with other riders who ‘took off’ so did she, just them stopping, she did, but dread to think where we’d have ended up, has no control 🤭 Love watching your videos Steve, very gentle man, real horse whisperer.xxxx😋

I hear you Deb. My heart twists wishing I could have given my horse better. I did my best at the time, and he wasn’t hurt at all, but I truly wish I could have understood better and given him more, he was the horse of my heart … That’s why Steve’s methods are so important to get out to the people just beginning with their horses!

I learn so much watching Steve's videos. The thing is, Steve is not only a trainer. He's innately intuitive with horses. He "talks horse" ... it's a gift. You can see that in how quickly horses respond to him and work with him. He's very knowledgeable too, but it's more than that. I know another trainer who's very much like Steve. He has a similar magical way with horses. It's as if they immediately recognize him as a kindred spirit. It's amazing to watch gifted trainers like him and Steve. I also appreciate how articulate Steve is. He walks people through each step and explains clearly and simply. That's a gift too.

What a brilliant VLOG, as always! One never gets tired of the techniques used … even though it’s technically the same one’s for each horse. But it’s like we’re seeing it for the first time every time … one never gets bored of watching your channel. I’m sure others will agree. 😂 What a beautifully little mare … love the dappling on her. What a change in disposition … horses look so angelic when they have that look of serenity, in their eyes. It’s no wonder there are so many horse lovers around the world! ❤ I’m so looking forward to Steve’s bash for what I think may be a milestone Birthday celebration, which I assume is on the 24th … my son’s is on the 25th and my 1/2 Birthday is on the 26th. You’re so blessed to have it in the Summer and not a Christmas Eve Day … let me tell you! It’ll be so much fun to see the whole family there too. So Steve, when you gave us a quick little tour at the beginning, I was looking for where you hung those spurs you guys got, when you visited the U.S. Tanya you must please show us where they got up to!?! The bar is set up with so much paraphernalia to see and keep one’s attention. Love the acreage you guys have and how you’ve set it up … how many acres in total? The only thing missing in an indoor riding arena … or at least a hardtop cover of an outdoor space, so you can ride year round! It’s such beautiful landscape, especially with the creek/river flowing through it … to be connected to the surrounding land so you’re able to hack around on! Such a different set-up than what’s here in 🇨🇦. Well I hope we get to see the demo as well as your Birthday bash and that it’s not just for the Members! Maybe someday I’ll be able to get a membership. 😊 anyhow, have a safe week! Happy Trails! 🙌🙏🐎🐴

@@wakingohiomama9110 i'm starting the studies in september! I'm in Serbia and it's a bit different here.. so basically it's like a course (if that's how you say it ahah) that is 3 months long (too short, in my opinion) but after i do that i can work at my local stable where i've been taking riding lessons for about 5 years now! I wish there was more serious courses and maybe even schools but there isn't any here.. tho i will be learning as much as i can there. I'll also be taking a "riding school exam" my stable has because one rlly famous trainer from here wanted to give us all a chance to learn more. I know it doesn't sound like much but it's all we have. I'm still gonna be learning from people like Steve and i hope i'll do well :D i'll probablly hold riding lessons while also helping begginer riders understand and treat horses well, that's the plan :) i'm only 19 so i have a loooong road ahead of me!

Steve and Tanya, Thank you for a deep well of guidance and experience. I made so many mistakes on my first true riding partner horse. ( I will always love him for how tolerant he was as I fumbled and learned to communicate with him effectively). As he is too old now to do the hard long trail rides, I bought a new horse. Told he was 5, but realizing he is about 3.5. He's been over ridden and cowboyed on too hard for a young horse and his hind hock xrays show the early damage. But he's so willing and tolerant. I adore his young spirit. Wyatt has a good solid, but rough, foundation. My job is to go back and teach him things with quality and purpose and trust. What a joy to apply all I have learned from your videos! He's an easy learner and I think young enough to fill in so many holes. I watch and re-watch you videos. Just yesterday, he started playfully nipping at my shoulder. Instead of thinking that was cute, I recognized that right away as losing my leadership. Loved the little flick of your fingers I saw in one video! Worked perfectly. Total mind re- set. Gently, calming moving his feet, lowering his head,... Such a game changer for a young horse. Here in Montana, there is a pretty rough cowboy culture related to horses. But when I'm on a long pack trip with horses and mules in the wilderness mountains and we come across something out of the ordinary; they call me and my horses to go first; with calmness, solidity, and quality that encourage the rest to follow. I watched a thousand videos to begin this search, and landed on your method about 3? years ago. Thank you for giving me so much understanding on how to create a healthy, safe relationship with my "little happy cowboy", Wyatt. Special thanks to Tanya who had an incredible knack of putting the camera where we need to see. Such a lovely woman.

I love watching you work with these horses who have a deep fear from some experience, who are convinced that they will literally *only* survive by the actions that they're taking. I love how you are slowly able to plant another way of thinking in their brains. You are a lifesaver for these horses. This one was particularly moving on so many levels. I love how you can sense so quickly where there is a dangerous problem that needs addressing immediately, how you can also sense your way through what the horse's fears are. And your timing is impeccable as you work rebuilding confidence, baby-step by baby-step. I am so grateful that you are in the world and doing the work that you are doing. Steve is becoming a legend! Someone commented to me “he just copies what others did before “, but the technical stuff isn’t where he’s so special. Yes, pressure is used to train horses and anyone who’s worked with them know that. It’s more Steve’s ability to use it so well. But more than anything it’s who he is as a human being. When people recognize that quality they just don’t want to watch the guys with the giant egos anymore. And that is what all the fuss is about!

Steve I don't think you've ever shown us a horse with her head in such a place. This one was a bit scary. *I loved it when you took her corner. It exposed her fright spot but I truly missed it until you pointed it out.

i used a small amount of black treacle smeared on my mare's bit and she was more than willing to take the bit into her mouth, then after 5 mins i repeated the bitting but this time without the BT and she took it straight away and i have had no issues getting her bit in ever since xxx

Loved seeing how you taught her to stand at the steps. I have a young Halflinger (3 year old) that I’m wanting to train to stand at the mounting block. Thank you !

I never had a horse. But I do enjoy the videos. My father said if I did not buy a motorcycle, he would get me a horse. I always wanted a horse. He didn't get me the horse, so I bought a motorcycle. I really liked riding it.

Never had my own horse, always wanted one. Do love watching your videos, I am an animal lover and I truly enjoyed watching animal lovers work with animals. Your videos are wonderful. Obviously you love and respect them. I haven't met alot of people like you... and you Tanya, but I have luckily met a few.

Thanks again Steve and Tanya for another great video! I never get tired of seeing the softness of the horses eyes show up once youve connected with them! It never gets old. I can watch your videos with such joy for these horses to get the needed guidance! May you have a wonderful, blessed birthday Steve! Thanks again to you both!❤❤🎉🎉
