Great honest review of the TE 449. All the others just say how perfect it is. Thanks.

SO INSPIRING!! I've currently got my ECU sent off to Zip Ty for a re-flash... in the mean time I'm fitting on the FMF powerbomb head pipe and Factory 4.1 muffler... and i JUST learned about the secondary butterfly that you mentioned in this video so that'll be coming out as well. Really made me feel great to see you thrash this bike like you have for years and its stood up to the test, great vid man!

They are a great reliable bike once a few minor issues are sorted. Unless racing, they don't need big money spent on them to give great service and ride well. Love mine still!

Thanks for stopping by. This is a pretty old video, but I did over service it and look after it. They are hard to find these days, and since KTM killed off Husqvarna these older real Husky models are hard to locate parts for. My TE449 lives in the garage these days, very occasionally going on a short ride. (Now beyond 420hrs old) My primary bikes have been Shercos for the last few years.

@@Danger_mouse its a very nice bike in my opinion 420 hours is good,The bikes last much longer than many claim(except if you are racing or abusing without maintenance)I looked at a sherco 4T but couldnt see any real advantage over the old Kato

@@nickg2431 The Sherco 300 4T is an awesome model, and from 2019 onwards, has KYB suspension fitted. Much nicer than the Austrian bikes 👌

@@Danger_mouse From the little i know(4T) i heard they are a bit smaller ,less tiring,v good at technical but power not quite as "exciting"Please inform me if any of this is correct DM!

@@nickg2431 They are certainly smaller and less tiring, but fast as a result. Less powerful than a 450, but more power right through the range than a 250. One just won the Australian 4 day Enduro outright against all bikes 🙂👍 The just released 24 model has a new lighter and more powerful engine again. Definitely worth looking at.

Wicked bike, wicked channel, wicked video! Gotta love the good old husky. I might get dissed for riding a 2 smoker by my mates but any husky rules. Looking forward to more videos, keep it up mate.

Thanks for the great feedback 👍 It makes it all worth doing. I'll be making a 4yr video soon, just about the anniversary again. Ride on!!

Hi Steve. It's a relatively easy mod. Basically removing the air inlet hose following the manual, undoing the two screws from the secondary throttle plate and removing it. You then refit the air hose. Have a look at the other videos on my page, there's one there showing the delay in the second butterfly system. This really dulls a great engine down and in the early models, like mine, contributes to flameouts and low speed stalls. If you're on FBook, have a search for our Page Husqvarna TE TXC TC 449 / 511. Heaps of files and useful information on there.

Miguel Pereira Thanks for the message. They are a great bike, I've kept mine even though it now has 320hrs and 8300km in it. I have a new Sherco 300 SEF-R 6 DAYS in the shed as my main bike now but the Husqvarna is still my special bike. 👍

So inspiring and accurate.I just bought the same bike it came with motard wheels too, zipty oil recovery,butterfly removed, FmF bomber system auto tune and power commander.I was looking at the g450x but i think the te was better value. What state do you do most of your riding dmouse? I was wondering what tyres youve found to be the best for this model?

Hi Jeff, I'm in Qld Australia. The local conditions vary from dry gravel to loam & wet tree roots/rocks. I run the Bridgestone X20 soft front tyre & X30 mid rear. They grip very well here. G;ad you like the video, I'm approaching 4 years on the bike now & still love it

nice video and nice bike, but the back round sound /music is to loud. can u tell me some good and bad things about that bike? I ordert one te 449 last week

Hi mate. They're a great reliable bike with a few simple mods and have very forgiving handling. I'm now approaching 7000km off road. I did a top end rebuild just a little while ago for my peace of mind, but it could have gone further. I'm hard pressed to find a replacement bike that I like riding as much as this one.

did you fix the oil overflow problem?
@Danger_mouse7 жыл бұрын
Action Cam Moto Hi, yes I did. I first fitted a DIY breather fitting into the side of the head just below the tappet cover. Later, I designed a replacement breather system that fits into the recess in the head next to the inlet cam and replaces the rubber D in the gasket. I sell them on eBay & have a new batch on order with the machinist at the moment. kzbin.info/www/bejne/noa0aZSshqZgmK8

is there a way you can prevent the oil overflow without breathers? And I noticed that oil level is fluctuating depending greatly on the engine temperature and also I suspect that fuel find its way to the carter? Mixes with oil and rises the oil level. Do you have or did you have the same?
@Danger_mouse7 жыл бұрын
+Action Cam Moto The original breather is just in the wrong location. The engine scavenges the oil from the crankcase and returns it to the transmission. Having the breather there means as the blow-by goes up the hose, it carries out the oil. It was a problem on the BMW G450X, then on the 449-511 & is still an issue on the CCM GP450. (All use the same design engine) Some dealers wrongly suggested to run less oil (800ml) but this is not enough to feed both the engine and transmission. The best way to assist it is with the relocation of the breather up to the head area.
