Older people in general +have their homes paid off, +retired, +eat less, +don't have to go to work (eg transport fares, gas, food etc), +don't spend as much money on clothes, +low socialising spend (eg bars, clubs, concerts etc) so can use pensions on lottery tickets. I've see some spend upto $200 a pop on lottery tickets and scratch offs.
