In general, the retro builders have not paid enough attention to weight. "Add lightness" was Colin Chapman's famous dictum to car builders. It is even more important for motorbikes. The worst offender, of course, is the so-called BSA Gold Star. It is actually a Mahindra. It weighs 470 lbs: intolerable.
Good to see Suzuki kept it's Sv650 in their stable, very versatile bike, sports, adv or standard models. Really wanted to see kawasaki W230 / Megula S.z Like the old Triumph 200 cub, little thumpers are making a comeback. Harley knows very well that the small bike market is the future and finally they discontinue their butt ugly sportster, the only "entry level:" bike they had, then shrink the same old ugly sportster model down to a 400 cc replica of itself. nothing Retro or Neo about this iconic ugliness. The HD Buell Blast was a great simplistic thumper concept with xlnt engine, just a hideous unbalanced cosmetic thing to look at with sketchy realtime geometry, wheelbase was too short. HD needs to look at what a "standard" bike actually entails using bikes like, Royal Enfield, Triumph cub, BSA and Ducati Desmo thumpers from the past,, even the BMW r25 vertical single, a thumper from the 1950-'s 60's was far ahead of its time and perfect for todays moto world going back to small, practical, efficient, economical and reliable.
