What a joy that decluttering brings to your heart. Sometimes I think the “stuff” owns you instead of you owning the stuff!

Thank you for sharing! I have been decluttering supplies and I'm amazed at what I do have that I'd completely lost track of...or items I have a huge supply of. As another subscriber said, it is a relief to pass on items you won't ever use.

I love to throw (or give) away stuff I don' use, but I doubt I could do it with my craft supplies...?! Great video! I'm 59 years old and I've moved over 40 times since 1981 so I'm pretty decluttered!! Kind regards from Ditte in the south of Sweden

I think this is such a good idea. I have been getting ride of stuff that’s no longer my style or I just don’t use. I’ve a friend who had to make a sudden move far away and pretty much all her craft stash was left behind. I love that my items are going to someone with a need. It stops any guilty feelings I may have.

Love your scrapbook set up. Really hope to get one of those one day. It looks all neat and tidy. Definitely inspirational seeing you clear out unused / unloved items. I always like I might use them one day. And they just stay in a pile where I wouldn’t be able to find them even if I wanted to use them! Thanks for sharing.

I am currently doing a huge purge from my studio. I am pulling everything from each category and going through each category at a time and purging. I did 12x12 paper and managed to purge approximately a 4 feet stack. Feels so awesome. I have taken one truck load to donation ( not all craft related). and working on second truck load. My studio space isn’t that big and really wasn’t that messy so it is amazing to me the amount of stuff that has come out. Room is feeling lighter though which I love. Thanks for sharing even more inspiration.

Hello there. 🌞 I needed to stop and say thank you for sharing this. Your craft area is beautiful and so organized. That's what I've been working on lately. Trying to organize and declutter. It's been very hard and overwhelming but I've been trying to get rid of things that I've had too long or am not using as well. Just started on my junk journal journey and am so very into it right now so been trying to focus on getting rid of all other supplies not junk journal related. Trying to make room to focus on getting journaling and paper crafting supplies and tools. Wish I lived near U cause I would totally luv to raid your destash piles... LoL! This is a very great way to try and much less intimidating. Thank U so much again for sharing. Hope you have a beautiful day 🌞 ~Mel~

Hi Barbara, nice video! The 3 packages of flowers... You said you don't like the glitter in the middle, you can remove it and attach a metal Brad or a small clock part and make it look vintage. In this way maybe you can find a way to use them. 🤗💕

This video was so much fun to watch. I am feeling very inspired to start the challenge myself. I usually don't have a problem getting rid of things either. It is an ongoing process though. I find myself getting rid of things and then six months later I need to do the same thing. I don't know how I accumulate so many things. LOL. Good luck with the challenge. Can't wait to see the next video. Hugs, Amily

I feel like I've posted this before, but I want to remind you that nursing homes and group homes for kids sometime need craft supplies. I'm getting rid of a bunch of blank canvases and Michael's liquid paints (I did pour painting for about 1-1/2 years), and I just googled "donate art supplies [my zip code]," so you might want to try that for craft supplies. Or maybe the thrift store that you go to would like some of the stuff. I don't give my stuff to crafting friends for two reasons: (1) they already have too much stuff, too, and (2) I don't feel like I'm really letting go of the stuff if I know who's getting it. I really enjoyed watching you do this. I've been getting rid of stuff for the past few months, and the more I get rid of or donate, the more I find more things to get rid of or donate. It does feel very liberating!

I thought of this method a lot of times, but it seemed so many items. 465 pieces omggg. But seeing your video made me realize that it is a bit easier than I thought. I'am not a hoarder at all and I declutter a couple of times per year, so no disasters in my home, but way to much stuff anyway. Thanks for the video and I can't wait for part 2, really a challenge!!

This is such a nice way of letting things go I am hopeful that 2020 is my year to be motivated to do this specially around the house, 1 room a month(ecxept the bathrooms that barely have a thing) should be nice enough and I hope to have the house in top shape. And the good thing is that a habit is created and we teach ourselves to let go (I hope that using this I am able to let go of the things that is basically "trash" (almost empty pens and packaging that is taking too much space). Btw your doodle cards are so cute

Barbara, yes you have too much, but it is good, you can see it. One Tip is good too, take out all Verpackungen auch aus Stickers, dann hast viel weniger zum beispiel schon out of müll. Aber du schaffst es schon. Nur schade ist es fürs Geld was das alles gekostet hat. Aber am Ende weisst man dann selbst, man wird besser überlegen bei nächstem Kauf. Alle gute in 2020 🙋‍♀️

I too have been working on the decluttering of my apt for the past couple of years. The older you get the more stuff u have and it's often overwhelming... especially the paperwork. I'm new at crafting so I'm trying to gain not lose lol! I will be moving to a very small space in the near future, so I am looking into the craft box. Just wondering how sturdy the top is...for example would that hold a tv?

Dear Barbara hi! I enjoyed your video and you made me wonder if there are supplies that i must get rid off too. I have some things that were gifted to me and that they don't match with my style (most of them are too vintage for me). However, i keep them just because these were gifted to me. Please tell me that i am silly to think like that and that i should give them away!!! Sweet greetings from Athens!🤗🤗🤗🤗

Dear Elena! You are definitely not silly, but you are trying to be considerate! Maybe it helps to see it like this: the purpose of the gift was to show that the person gifting it was thoughtful and wanted to make you happy - which they did, but that person would not want you to keep it if you would not enjoy using it. It was not gifted to you intending you to feel guilty not using it every time you see it. It would be much better served going to someone who would actually enjoy it! 😃 I hope that helps! ❤️

HI, Barbara what is the point of keeping things that don,t work well or you don,t need or like, i have been decluttering for years and it never ceases to amase me where it all comes from, and there are so many people who can benefit even womens shelters who may miss those homely comforts or want to make a card for someone who may have been kind to them but don,t have the money, so thank you once a gain inspiring us much love Jacqueline

So just wondering did you just get rid of one thing on day 1? Or did you do multiple days on the first day? Seems like when I have time or want to declutter I want to keep going? Just curious! I have a hard time parting with craft supplies thinking I may NEED it again someday 🤔 love your ideas though & I love having less but am not a minimalist either 👍tfs

I really started with one item so that it doesn’t overwhelm you and you ease into it adding one more event day. Made it much more manageable!

I don’t have many things because I only have been paper crafting for about a year. But still I have some stuff I bought in the beginning I thought I will be using. But where does I send it, because I don’t know any craft people or communities?

Check if you have any schools or maybe old people’s homes or art workshops in your area. Or just bring to a second hand store.
