I love it!! Can't wait to do this painting, I also want to do your Enchanted Apple painting. I love you Jane, you're such an inspiration to Newer painters everywhere!!!! :) And, the Autumn Barn - I want to do this on a large canvas - approx 24x36" to hang in my entryway for Fall. I've never painted anything larger than 16x20, but, here's to THE JOURNEY! :)

Love this pumpkin painting, Jane. As my co workers stop by my desk to chat, they always make nice remarks about my pumpkin--"it really looks like it's glowing!" I reply, "That's art!"

Girl, you could do Halloween paintings 365 days a year and you wouldn't get a complaint from me! I love Halloween and anything creepy and dark. This one is now in my top three favorites of your tutorials. Right up there with Harvest Gate and Rainy Day Window. I'd love to see a painting done in this style of a haunted house, with a huge Harvest Moon, maybe some creepy fog, and Norman Bates mother standing in the window, haha! Just kidding on the Norman Bates part ;) Oooo! Or a night time scene of a cemetery would be cool too. Freddy Kruger silhouette? I could go on and on, lol

Jane, I'm just getting to seeing this tutorial from last year. It's close to Halloween and I wanted to paint some pumpkin paintings for my house. I follow your tutorials and found this one and love it. I'm going to attempt to paint it. But I have a question. What do you think if I added a small moon in the corner? Do you think that would look alright? Thanks Jane! Love your work!

Jane, I want to do this one It's adorable! This will be a new experience for me as I have never used so much medium before. Fortunately I already have a big tube of Matte Medium! But I have a question. I'm using "really cheap" paint - Apple Barrel Quick Drying $.50 at Walmart and I get pretty good results on my paintings. Will I be sorry down the road for using them?

Hey Jane. You saying something during filming about how everybody celebrates Halloween differently made me think of a strange 1 I had in 93. I think you'd appreciate the warped humor. I guess I should give you a bit of the scary story as if we were sitting around a campfire with beers & dogs trying to out do each other w having a sleepless nite. Having lived in an area where there were spring training camps for professional baseball players, having relatively good looks as well as humor & most of all...working in a sportsbar w 32 tv's...I used to be able to hang out w a buncha different ball players even dating a NY Met(Sid Fernandez). Through these players I was introduced to a man who wasn't too bad on the eye & we flirted w ea other on the nite we met. I was surprised when I got a phone call a few hrs later,@ work, from him, telling me he had been waiting "all his life" to meet someone like me & that he could fall in love w me. I was quite charmed but didn't really respond. The next 2 wks we saw ea other only in mixed crowds of the social groups we hung with & finally 1 nite we were at a pool party cook out & he asked me for a date. I told him I would go out w him & gave him my address & phone #. Well. At this dinner party I offered to go for a beer run & as I was leaving he walked me to my car asking me "how long I'd be gone...10 min?" & I made a cpla jokes about what if I ran into a friend by the hot dogs & chatted for 7 min & then ran into someone else by the Tide & chatted for 12.3 min...totally joking. I knew when I pulled into the driveway & he came RUNNING out the door that this was a little strange...BUT...When he asked me to...MARRY HIM...I thought...WTF...& realized this guy was nuts. We only knew ea other for just 2-3wks & hadn't even vo-dee-o-doed yet...let alone marry...so I pretty much just shot him down anytime he'd ask me out. But being in the same social circle I still always would see him in the mix...& be civil... Now comes the scary part. The guy was relentless in his persistence in wanting to be w me that it literally turned into stalking. Yep. I'd come home from work at nite & he'd come out from behind a tree while I was unlocking my door or I'd be backing out a driveway at a friends & all of a sudden he'd be taking a flying leap into the back open window of my car. When I stayed at a friends for a week bc I was trying to throw him off I had come home to get a change of clothes not only to find the meats I had in my freezer thawed out all over the various furniture thru out my house, beer poured into my klipsch heresy speakers...but my extensive comic book collection gone as well. Vault of Horror,Bernie Wrightson illustrated Cycle of the Werewolf,signed...old Uncle Scrooges...I could go on... Now comes Halloween...I'm still dealing w this but want to go out & have fun..get drunk..party. I get made up as Grim Reaper, phenominal make up mind you...& my 2 friends go as zombies to match. We hire a limo to take us to a bar party on the ocean(Hutchinson Island,Fl) do our fun there & hire a cab to take us home. We drop my 1 friend off & as we're leaving there my other friend, who works on a 110' private Feadship Yacht, asks me if I'd like to stay on the boat as the owners not there & we could take the jet skis out...but I say no...& get dropped off at my cottage on the intracoastal as she drives away in the cab. It's about 1am now & as I'm walking up driveway I'm thinkin to myself that I could've sworn I had left carport lite off but just shrug it off. Then I go in to house & 1st thing I do is go to grab a beer...but when I open fridge...there's no beer. Now I'm baffled as I know I just bought a 12pk Molsons but bc I'm buzzed I'm thinkin maybe we drank em. So I plop down onto my new 2nd hand sofa as I had to replace other bc of all the thawed meatblood saturated in it...as I lean back to get comfy, settle in,remote in hand...I spy...outa the corner of my eye, thru my open bedroom door, that has a lite on that I know I had turned off...FEET ON MY BED...I jump up & go in my room & there, stretched out on my new 2nd hand cali king bed(again bc of meat blood saturation)...is this A-hole...sleeping...& he's wearing my $100 Irish cableknit wool sweater & the effer ripped the collar pulling it over his flippin head. Now...I'm pissed. I grab him & tell him to wake the F up.Screaming. No response. Again I try. Still no response. That's when I noticed the empty medicine bottles on my nitestand that were leftover from a back surgery I had a few months b4 that. A full bottle of prednizone(90pills),a. 3/4 full bottle liquid codeine cough syrup & about 40 percocets!!! Now I realize the guy is ODing & I straddle him...shaking him by the shoulders, head flopping back & forth...JOHN...JOHN...WAKE UP...I scream. Finally he opens his eyes only a slit...but then they go WIDE WIDE OPEN...IN HORROR...as there...straddling him...shaking him...is none other than...THE GRIM REAPER!!!! Yep. I was still in full costume. I laugh about it now. That nite was rather strange. It'd make a great SNL skit. Anyways. To end the story. He lived. Then I was able to have him jailed.2x. 2& 1/2 yrs ea time. (when I got home from ER that nite still in costume the police pointed out to me that they'd found a carving knife under the bed...that he had plunged shaft into 9x that it went through mattress & boxspring...& my 12 empty molson bottles were under bed too...) Anyways. Thanks for letting me tell story. P.S. this guy did find me again after so long of not hearing from him...about 2 yrs ago. He called here, where I work & left a mssg.Creepy huh? Happy Halloween 🎃
