Love your channel!! I'm a beginner artist who mostly enjoys coloring in adult coloring books as a hobby and I've learned so much from watching your videos. I really enjoy Kerby Rosanes' adult coloring books and had a question for u. Which color pencils do u think wud work best for his books? I've recently watched ur review of color pencils and was just wondering what u personally thought wud be best (for a beginner who values vibrancy and budget)? Also have u considered drawing from one of his books (if u haven't already) or reviewing one for ur channel? Thanks again!!

11:35 - So THAT'S what those super cluttered pages are for! All they normally do is cause a spike in my anxiety because the amount of stuff on the page is so overwhelming. Now I have a place to start with those. Thank you for showing this, Sarah!

I'm looking forward to that collab! Personally I'm not a fan of the create something everyday idea, it stresses me out and since I do art as a hobby to relax and unwind (amongst other hobbies that I have) I usually don't ever finish challenges like this. Anyway, have fun everyone who does these!
@emerana3 жыл бұрын
I downloaded her freebie 30 days of flowers with tracker which is a teaser to this release. I didn't let it dictate when I coloured them. What's worked for me is simply having smaller elements to attack, instead of a huge page or double page spread which can be discouraging as lovely as they are
@blackrose5383 жыл бұрын
@@emerana like I said, I do art whenever I feel like it. I'm not a fan of these 30/31 day challenges, because I don't always have the time to draw or paint nor the motivation and that's okay. The idea behind 30 days of is to do it continuously, like she says in her book and while that might work for some people, it's not for everyone. Sure, I know it's not a must-do-it-that-way kinda thing and get that. In this case, though... I'm. also not really a fan of doodling. Just can't seem able to do it 😅
@shadowguard35783 жыл бұрын
@@blackrose538 I hear you. I do generally color everyday, but I don’t like to color or draw under pressure. I work at my own pace because the idea of a timed activity stresses me out, and removes the fun out of the activity. It can take me a long time to finish a coloring page, but that’s fine with me.
@blackrose5383 жыл бұрын
@@shadowguard3578 I basically work the same way :) Ideally, I would like to do something creative every day, because it's a lovely way to wind down from the day, but I have so many different hobbies (mostly gaming and sewing) with the same outcome that art just isn't always at the top of the list :D That being said, I respect everyone who tries these challenges or concepts. They can be a great way to start a hobby for someone who just wants to try things out

@@blackrose538 I completely understand what you’re saying. I have the attention span of a goldfish and I’m easily distracted. I just love Johanna's books. Been colouring in them since high school; I really needed that therapy. Some of my favourites are "Magical Jungle" and "Enchanted Forest". She has drawn some fantastic and beautiful illustrations over the past years, and she definitely has changed her style a bit in her recent books. I am so excited to get my hands on this one XD.

Her last book, Worlds of Wonder, is my favorite, but all are great. ALL pencils do marvelous in here. Johanna swears by Staedtler Ergosoft, also Prisma, Polychromos, Black Widow and many others do. My favorite budget pencil in her books are Castle Arts, 120 colors

Just wanted to say: I came here from Lindsey W’s channel (the frugal crafter). KZbin has been recommending your videos to me for months, but I wasn’t into colored pencils at the time, so I passed them over. Recently a friend gifted me a bag of art supplies from a family member who had died. Among them was a number of colored pencils. They were a very random collection from Crayola, Prang, and other ‘cheap’ brands (though I’m positive no children have ever used them), and most are close to 15 or more years old. So I figured I would take a look at your videos, just to see. In the span of a month I’ve binged on your videos, subscribed, and rekindled my love for coloring from when I was little. I don’t know if I’ll keep up with it, but I have been thoroughly enjoying myself. I even colored along with your first live from start to finish, no breaks, simply because I was enjoying the chat. Also, your reviews and swatching tutorials have kept me from impulse buying (which I am very prone to). Just wanted to say thank you for the great content and inspiration. Keep up the good work! 💝
