Sorry for the re-upload everyone. Had to deal with false copyright claims on one of the songs I purchased and just figured the best move would be to use a diff song and reupload.
But besides that, I had a ton of fun making this video especially because it's based on the true story of the sinking of the Titanic! Lemme know what y'all think about the film now that it's 25 years old, how does it stand the test of time?
Don't forget to leave a like and sub if you enjoyed!!

16:09 Even James Cameron himself has said that was an accurate description of what it feels like to be submerged in freezing water, based on his own experiences with ice fishing when he was growing up in Canada.

I thought he said he grew up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin?
@jacobbelow
@jacobbelow 11 ай бұрын
@@tawnikitari No, that was Jack. Cameron is Canadian, and he used the character of Jack as mouthpiece for that moment in the movie when he's describing freezing water. (Also fun fact about that scene, it's also one of the few inaccuracies in the movie, where Jack said he used to go ice-fishing on a manmade lake in Wisconsin that turns out didn't exist until 1918, well after Titanic.)

(In reference to the whole “Jack could have survived” shtick) not to mention, in one of the official documentaries, Cameron finally tested it himself. Ultimately he did conclude that yes in an alternate scenario, Jack very much could have made it. But in the heat of the moment, all he could think about was not doing anything to jeopardize Rose’ survival. That is what he said, but in addition you could also make the argument that simultaneously it plays on to the fact that when you are in that much cold water, you can hardly think straight. Especially coming off the fear of being on a sinking ship.

You forgot that James Cameron had an affair during this movie. While filming the smash hit Titanic, Cameron began an affair with Suzy Amis, who plays the elderly Rose Calvert's granddaughter Lizzy. Despite the affair, he married Linda Hamilton in 1997. But after only eight months, he left her again for Amis, who he is still with today.

In regards to lifeboats in the fourth funnel: the original designs of the ship had it carrying 64 lifeboats, but as regulations didn’t require that many, they opted for the bare minimum in order to keep the ocean view clear (as stated in the movie). After Titanic sank, her sister Olympic’s lifeboat compliment was raised to 64.
@gokulgopan4397
@gokulgopan4397 5 ай бұрын
Not for views. Movie isn't the best source. As you said before, it was because they didn't think beyond the regulations. It wasn't the norm back then. They saw lifeboats are ferries.
@reactive435

This is innacurate, as they actually were still above the minimum. Titanic was required to carry atleast 16, yet carried 20. The regulations were also based on weight rather than capacity.

The amount of research that went into the Titanic movie is insane. Almost every movement, object, and even extra is there for a reason and has a true story behind it. For example there was one seen where a extra looked at a character who was speaking in the moment because that person in real life heard the conversation but said nothing (I can’t remember what it was about)

Victor Garber (Mr. Andrews) plays one of Reese Witherspoon's teachers (I think) in Legally Blonde not to mention he was also in Alias starring Jennifer Garner. Bernard Hill (Captain Smith) plays King Theoden in The Two Towers and Return of the King. Lastly, Ioan Gruffudd (Fifth officer Harold Lowe) plays Mr. Fantastic in the 2005 adaptation of Fantastic Four starring Chris Evans and Jessica Alba.

More fun facts: Victor Garber is an original cast member of the original production of Sondheim’s musical Sweeney Todd (the musical the Johnny Depp movie of the same name is based on). A quite interesting story I've heard about Ismay is that around the time "A Night to Remember" was released in November 1955 Walter Lord got a letter from England about the "remarkable finish" at the 1913 Derby in Epsom Downs. Craganour, the favourite, crossed the line first and was escorted to the winners' circle. Then, without a protest from anyone, it was placed second to Aboyeur. Craganour, Lord's correspondent said, was owned by Bruce Ismay, and I guess it doesn't need saying that after what happened the year before the establishment would never let an Ismay-owned horse win the hallowed Derby. Walter Lord then went to check the story. Everything turned out to be accurate except for one important detail. Joseph Bruce Ismay didn't own Craganour. His brother, Charles Bower Ismay, did. Still, Craganour remained second to Aboyeur. The reason? Craganour's original jockey had been replaced by an American one, Johnny Reiff. I don't know why that was but the move was immensely unpopular, and the discussions at the end of the race were a golden opportunity for the judges to discredit Reiff. Walter Lord, though, said that he still got letters afterwards still linking Bruce Ismay and Craganour together

Yes they are floating on that wall debris, not a door, and you can see the water still touching them. So they both would have died of hypothermia. Right? It's such a good movie, but then you get to that part and it's like "you can get on.... You can get on! ... You could probably get a third person on there! Go get the baby at least!"

@@Bgrosz1 That's exactly why he didn't want him to get on...To build tension, and a "damn you were smart until now"...

It's actually due to weight it was proven they both couldn't get on earlier in the movie, mythbusters proved that they could only get on if Rose had tied her lifebelt to the door frame. But I very much doubt she would've thought to do that in that moment

If you look closely you can see that in the movie, Jack tried to get on the door to, but he ended up flipping it when he tried. So he ended up just staying in the water so Rose could live

A previous ship had gone down due to a head on collision so titanic had been built with a false nose to take the impact of such an event. I don't remember what documentary I learned that from but yes had she hit head on she would have been fine

If it was a head on collision with a ship, she would've easily survived. These ships are built for ship-to-ship collisions. Icebergs impact is like a speeding car hitting a concrete wall.

Did you know that James Cameron would later marry the actress who played old Rose's caretaker?

Another fact is Fabrizio wasn’t supposed to die how he did originally Fabrizio was going to get on the same life boat as Caledon but then Caledon hits him with a oar and then he says you want to go to America and points to the horizon and Fabrizio dies from blood loss but they didn’t do that because they thought it was to graphic

The way Fabrizio died in the movie was the way John Jacob Astor died in real life. In the film he is last seen inside by the grand staircase when the water bursts through the skylight. The reality was he was crushed beyond recognition by the smokestack. His body was identified by his wallet
