would you plan on selling only the coiled cable?
@HeroVisionYT2 ай бұрын
@@lute_cg They sell them! There's a TRS version of the cable, too, via the "Spares" section on their site. Here's the link: fifine.cc/collections/audio-adapters-cables/products/fifine-3-5mm-trs-audio-coiled-cable-for-h8-headphone

The biggest thing budget headphones need to focus on is comfort! If they’re going for the 30-80$ price point they have to be comfortable, nobody would expect them to sound like a set of sennheisers but if they’re uncomfortable then that makes them Completely unlistenable

Absolutely. 👏 You can't expect premium quality for $30~.

The microphones they make are wonderful for the price. Lack of features for 30$ doesn't really seem like much of an issue. Don't need no buttons or controls for a pair of headphones, personally. The build quality as well, for 30$ I do not expect much, so as long as they do not act as a hydraulic press on my ears, we good! What *does* matter however, is the audio quality. I would suppose the extra bass and more "detail" that you hear compared to the sony headphone pair would be because of the cup size. If the headphones are over-ears, non-openback ones, then the seal that over ears create rather than the sitting on-top form of fit that the on-ears provide gives less room for the lower frequencies to just, well, escape. Therefore you'll usually get a much more impactful sound with over-ears than on-ears even if both of them have the same specs. (This is anecdotal however, I am just judging from personal experience.) I do want to get myself a pair to screw around with, the removeable cable is a HUGE plus for such a pricepoint. The lack of volume, I would guess, is some sort of lack of amplification. You didn't state any deterioration in sound quality as the volume increases, so I would presume that an external amp (although bringing up the total price of a setup by quite a lot) would fix that issue. Whilst I do not assume that you know this, I do not assume that you don't know this either; a lot of headphones, virtually all of them, can be amplified way past what the manufacturer envisioned. This usually comes with some sort of audio quality deterioration, and at the end of it - driver/membrane rupturing, but that is still something to consider. Thank you for the review, it brought these to my attention!

Very insightful comment, thank you! 🙏 You definitely seem to know far more about audio equipment than I. There's definitely no deterioration in sound as the volume increases, but even without the amp and using the headphones in a general-use environment, they're quieter and less bassy than every other set of headphones I own. They're not BAD, just... Eh. From my perspective, there's just no "draw" to these headphones in particular. for £30~, you could go for something like the Sony WH-CH520, Anker H30i, AKG K52 - all of which have a unique selling point (bluetooth, comfort, buttons/gimmicks that help a specific type of user). They're all known brands, too. If Fifine are going to compete with those other budget headphones, they need something special, like you'll find with pretty much all of their microphones.

@@HeroVisionYT You do bring about a great point. I did initially want to compare these to some In-Ear-Monitors, but I didn't as I thought it'd be a bit daft to compare two devices of such different specializations. However, now that it has been stated, I must add to my previous comment that whilst these headphones aren't horrible - they definitely are way more underwhelming than Fifine's finely refined great-value microphones. You could get the all-fabled chinese high-fidelity Moondrop Chus which have accumulated a massive reputation over the years for being wonderful and almost unbeatable in their price range at only 18,99$ on amazon (not including shipping.) These in ears come with removeable/replaceable cables as well, and are a genuine recommendation I give to people. Not an ad (the bots nowadays, have to say that just in case), it is just that even if given the benifit of the doubt, in retrospect, these do seem to be a little bit dissapointing in comparison to their competition, or the prowess of Fifine's other in-store products.
