Even boiled eggs are "boiled in water". For $30 that breakfast looked like a bargain especially for room service which is usually notoriously expensive. Poached Eggs BTW are eggs that are cooked in boiled water - either directly in the water (that must be in a swirl motion with vinegar added) or in a special pan. The egg centers are soft and they are best served on toast. Eggs Benedict Eggs are cooked this way. The potato dish is called hash-brown and are a staple on McDonalds breakfast menu. Looking forward to seeing where you are headed!

Not sure if anyone described the poached egg, but they are just that, poached! Get a pan of boiling water, crack the shell open, and drop the eggs in, wait a few minutes, fish them out with a strainer type spoon, and serve over buttered toast or whatever you prefer. They can be made soft, and runny which is the usual preparation, but can be poached hard as well depending on the cooking time. Delicious on toast. Hope that helps Harald.
