My first job, in the industrial U.S. South in the 1970's, was as a Vending Attendant. I stocked, inventoried, and maintained large banks of vending machines at large companies. Later, I prepared the dinners and sandwiches food for the vending machines. I liked my job, but it was nothing like this. My clients loved even the limited variety. I am envious of what you are experiencing.

I've seen videos of the machines before, but not to this extent -- it makes me wonder, though, when you said that one man had filled up a bag with the whipped cream cans, and then the machine with butter, etc. With this proliferation of machines, are the prices comparable or double or what, in comparison to grocery stores? Are supermarkets few and far between and thus the need for so many vending machines? (Which is an awesome idea -- here in Italy they have some "24/7" machines but there aren't that many and the quality of the products is seriously questionable AND they are generally double to triple the price...and most of the time products get stuck etc.)
