I right now play france and my tactic is witching everything to orks with artillery And build industry then forts and I declined rhineland and the Munich conference And when germany declared waron benelux I thought that my forts lvl 8 will be put to the test but they could not even push through belgium and allies were at the doorstep of Berlin and Germany did not give eastern poland to USSR even tho they signed molotov ribentrop And soviets were in Krakow but now germany has destroyed denmark and is at the doorstep of Moscow but I benelux is still stalemate so I made some mediums and navaly invaded italy to rome (they had pushed me out of south eastern france so I had to build a new one and I capitulated ghem but now I am in stalemate again I do not know why I even write this Lol and it is quite long comment and I know no one is insterested in this why am I even writing this... You didn't do Taureor's strat correctly. The whole point of waiting until the exact hour is to prevent yourself from fighting the allies. The way I got the achievement was a modified version of Taureor's strat. Start like he did but don't attack Hungary so as to not generate world tension. Defeat the soviets and create a puppet with help form Germany (The soviets declared on me in my game but you may have to justify on them or guarantee Finland) now train up pure inf Russian divisions and build forts on your border with Germany. Release Belarus and Ukraine so you only have to deal with your eastern border. Leave the Axis. The allies should invite you since you didn't generate world tension but if not attack Germany manually. with millions of Russian inf you will be able to inflict enough casualties on Germany. P.S You don't have to win just play defense against Germany. In my game I wasn't in any position to defeat Germany but the Germans wouldn't be able to defeat me without millions more casualties.

Hey toom you should check out the World Ablaze mod whenever you finish this series and your CK play through. It increases the difficulty of HOI4 by making the AI smarter, adding economic fatigue, replacing the 40 width meta with 30 widths, creating more historical focus trees, adding historical tech for each country, and more. Definitely worth checking out if you want an added challenge to easy game HOI4.

Some achiev are more about luck than skill and no one with good faith can booster about good luck against good skill, if you get luck sometines you feel like not gained jack-shit , even worse if you have done all you could and have to depend on luck. It pain me to say but time is also a factor, most people cant play until all parts go right, and is realy bad when you put 3 or more hours just to see a bad luck end all your "work".

The whole point of the achievements is for the challenge of actually doing it. Watching those early videos where Tommy took different strategies, then using his own was awesome. I love that, it's what makes the content so fun to watch. I'm fine with exploits, but when it's "delete the enemy army" then what's the point of doing an achievement?

When the achievement and game is so poorly balanced that it's less on using strategy and more on tiresome tedium. It took me three days to get Battlecry because I had to conquer near the whole earth because Japan decided to join the Axis and India took a Japanese province in a peace deal. I had to kill Japan and Germany with its Russian puppet before going after a fascist UK, Italy, India, Brazil, all of Africa, Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Turkey, and a multitude of other minor nations and puppets. I conquered near the entire world aside from North America and Australia as the Guangxi Clique, but I left the experience feeling less satisfied than I would have hoped. There's overcoming a challenge, and then there's times where a game loses the fun behind playing it which you can see here in this video.

@@scruffmcgruff03 Needing to rely on a game's RNG than with a strategy to avoid tedium is to make an achievement less on merit but luck. Those without the luck of a game's pull will then suffer tedium. I cannot fault one for wanting to retain more of their life than to waste it in the typical HOI4 slog. For the "Finnish Him!" achievement, is it my fault that Germany's AI bugged out and got into a stalemate with Belgium before losing WW2 just as quickly as it seemed to start? To restart every time something didn't go well would gobble up hours for things outside of one's control. Trying to accomplish them regardless will gobble up hours for things outside of one's control. I did manage to earn that achievement of "Finnish Him!". I did it solo without Germany's help. I killed over 40 million soviets and pushed them all across the continent because Stalin wanted a bit more land. I anguished over the lack of war exhaustion as those very soviets who lost so much in their aggressive campaign still maintained peak stability and war support while my nation had theirs fall into the gutter because a few of my convoys were sunk. I can't help but feel bitter towards the cost of such a victory, and I'll be forsaken if I ever try to scorn another for not wanting a similar experience for something as much as an achievement.

A tip I have to tell you. There is a quick way to take out the US. First, do Support the Kodoha Faction to get PP. Then before you hit *BANZAI*, justify on the Phillipines to get the war goal on the US while still being fascist. Then, when the war is justified, take Alaska (with at least 1 port) and then attack the Western Coast with as many divisions as possible. I overwhelmed the US forces by mid-late 1936 and took them out by 1937 after enough micromanagement. Then, wait until world tension rises (after the US War is finished) to justify on Mexico. After defeating them, you should either defeat the Axis or Allies depending on the European situation. You will have to finish off the Allies in the end anyway to take France. Also, you can get a Take Claimed State War goal on the Societ Union at any time.

The one thing that I don't understand with Tommy is why doesn't he not do those achievements in which he has to cheat instead of doing them by cheating if they are so stupid. Clearly, he wants to have all the achievements done so that he can play other games and have his mind at peace ,but how can he have his mind at peace if he cheated through the unfair achievements. What I'm trying to say is that the 100% achievements done on his steam page might not be a reminder of all the hardships he has done but a reminder of where he had to abondon persevering for a damn 3 digit number

The way I got this crappy achievement was making Russia release all Poland’s bordering territories, then removing all of Germany’s army except for the horse template and just held on with the given divisions, I hate that achievements are so shitty you even have to contemplate using exploits.

The achievements aren't meant for people who don't enjoy stupid challenges. I don't get the problem with achievements for single player addicts. If you gotta exploit them then just don't do them

If people are just gonna continue cheat achievements then the achievements will mean nothing, they are meant to show that you can play the game and are dedicated to it. If everyone can get them by just cheating then might as well not include achievements at all.

It is just so painful when the game makes your 6 hours of progress meaningless because you accidentally gave a province in china to yourself and not your vassal. last weekend I spent 8 hours trying to get Macau my day and when I finally after 3 hours of grinding finished china, I realized I made that mistake, ruining my entire day just because I made one mistake. It's just sad because most people who cheat/exploit these try, and love the game, If you don't there is no point in doing them but it's so sad when you waist days trying to do something that requires no skill and mainly luck.

@@ConfusedFroug The thing is that theres very little luck involved if you use historical, Tommy is just using that as an excuse when he tries to exploit it here. If you do Macau my day or 30 minutes of hel as they are intended there's virtually no luck involved. There's a whole lot of strategies that rely on 0 luck for basically every achievement, they're just harder on average than the "carry me Germany" strats that do rely on the AI doing the heavy lifting.
