I've watched a lot of reviews on this pedal, but this is the one that actually made me order it today.

One of the best demos of this!!!!! Something about the attack of the strings sounds so pleasing on the El Cap, right around the 7 min mark the repeats sound like voices! 8-11 min is a great sound too. No other pedals were added. Lets see one H9 sound like this!

My favorite pedal, hands down :)

+Fabio Kasper This was a very long video, I'm glad you found something helpful in it !
@FabioKasper8 жыл бұрын
Sure did. Your video served to remind me that one can get much more from this pedal. I'm under-using mine. Thx!
@AntoineMichaudGuitar8 жыл бұрын
+Fabio Kasper I also realized this by myself when doing this video. And it's true for all our pedals. Usually, we leave them at a setting that we like and we forget it can do so much more !

Right. Good work man!!! Have fun!

Great demo, its so versatile, but the while secondary function thing would drive me nuts, i just wouldbt remember whats what. If i did, its just options paralysis.

had one of these pedals for a while and your video helped me think about the pedal in many different new ways - thanks :--). Also, have the Bluesky and the Sunset - not sure I need anything else. Most bases covered........ always room for a new pedal

Great video, Antoine! Will you be doing anymore videos like this? I would love to see you go on 30-minute dates with the rest of your pedalboard lol. Especially the Wet Reverb and XTS Atomic. This is the best demo of the El Capistan yet! :)

Can the timeline do that sound from 0:02 to 0:07 that sounds like the tape glitches or freaks out for a second? I know it can do a basic “wow and flutter” but I haven’t seen any videos where it sounds like that. Trying to decide if I need to get just a Timeline or both!
@AntoineMichaudGuitar7 жыл бұрын
No, the Timeline doesn't have this function, and that's exactly why I largely prefer the El Capistan. I would take 2 El Caps before 1 Timeline.
@lizdiamond10707 жыл бұрын
Monochrome Seasons looks like I’ll have to get an el capistan too! That sound is so warm and beautiful. Thanks for the reply!
@lizdiamond10707 жыл бұрын
so i wound up buying a timeline, and after playing it with it for one day im already considering returning it. it just cant sound like this no matter what. the el capistan has something magical to it.
@AntoineMichaudGuitar7 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I bought the Timeline first in my case. But when I bought an El Capistan, everything changed. (and I ended up selling the Timeline, cause the El Cap was everything I ever wished for in a delay pedal).
@openup0072 жыл бұрын

I would love your opinion on something. I’m using a boss dd6 for all my delay stuff and been thinking about getting a delay with a more darker ambient tone for more of the worship songs and I think this pedal is it but I also wanna ask do you think that this pedal could pull off dotted eighth stuff for praise songs?
@AntoineMichaudGuitar6 жыл бұрын
Stephen Garza I wouldn't say the El Capistan is dark sounding. I would take the Diamond Memory Lane Jr. or the MXR Carbon Copy for dark delay tones!
@AntoineMichaudGuitar6 жыл бұрын
Stephen Garza For dotted eighths, there is one tape head and mode combination that can do it on the El Capistan, but it's much easier with other pedals with a dedicated mode for it. According to your description, I would really go with the Memory lane Jr.!
@TexmixTones6 жыл бұрын
Alright sounds good!! Appreciate your help man and continue with your great work

Good sound! Did you add reverb from el capistan?
@AntoineMichaudGuitar8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think it did for some sounds!
@EchiBTR8 жыл бұрын
Sweet!!!! am i missing something from your channel, or there still no pedalboard order from your personal rig? where can i take a look at them? || and btw, why do you need two delays (and two reverbs) for ambient? (at leas that what i've heard from many peoples out there) ..
@AntoineMichaudGuitar8 жыл бұрын
I usually put my pedalboard chain on the description box of my songs, but here it is: TC Electronic Polytune Walrus Audio Deep Six Compressor Earthquaker Devices Organizer XTS Atomic Overdrive Fulltone Supa-Trem George Dennis Volume Pedal Diamond Memory Lane Jr. Strymon El Capistan Neunaber Stereo Wet Reverb Strymon BigSky Reverberator Boomerang III Phrase Sampler I use 2 delays because it's sounding more ambient when they are stacked, which you can not do with a single delay pedal (the first pedal feeds into the second). I don't need 2 reverbs, but I keep the Neunaber because I like it very much, but I could keep the Big Sky only if I wanted. Thanks for commenting :)

Hello antoine! Do you prefer DIG or El Capistan? which one seems more magical?
@AntoineMichaudGuitar4 жыл бұрын
I prefer El Capistan by far! The modulation and deterioration of the repeats is gorgeous. On the DIG the modulation is just controlled by a ''off, light, deep'' switch, which is a big problem for me.
@salsabilahmedshrestho9604 жыл бұрын
@@AntoineMichaudGuitar Thank you. Can you make a Pros and Cons video about the strymon reverbs too? with the Flint, Bluesky and the Bigsky?

Is this pedal more dreamie than the timeline I need help in am an acoustic ambient guitar player
@AntoineMichaudGuitar6 жыл бұрын
Both can be very dreamy. The Timeline has 10x more options. It really depends if you need presets and more types of delays. And what is you budget

What configuration are the SM57s in? XY? ORTF? How close to the grill? Sounds excellent!
@AntoineMichaudGuitar8 жыл бұрын
PJ Jackson Thanks man! One mic for each amp, so no need for such techniques as XY or ORTF. Pointed almost towards the center of the speaker cone, but slightely angled to get the side of the cone too. Very close to the grill, 1 to 1,5 inches. But I back off on the bass on my amps and I play in a relatively low volume.
