I have been looking at these. I have not seen enough for me to spend the kind of money they want for these -yet. Great video-Thank you.

Didn’t know about that boost feature! That’s great! What a killer pedal this thing is!

This video helped me understand how to enable the secondary features of this pedal. It says in the manual that you must press both "tap" and "bypass" buttons to activate it, but it doesn't say that you must keep holding them WHILE controlling the knobs 😒thanks a lot Vinnie 🙏🏼👍

Just got a secondhand El Capistan and after fiddling around with it, as you do, before actually looking for a manual or the like, the YT algorithm first lead me this video of yours. Now I'm more of a keys and knobs kind of guy and my first attempt was on a Moog Mother32, but I must say however that that guitar of yours is possibly the most beautiful, or should I say bluetiful?, guitar I'v ever seen, and also happy to hear something else than the usual blues masturbation one often hear in pedal demos. Also for other reasons you seem like a nice guy. Take care, stay safe.

ah that's so nice of you! thank you so much for your comment. Yeah, that's a first edition chapman ml3. It was quite cheap back then and it still serves me very well :) Hope you have fun with your pedal and create some beautiful sounds! All the best, Vinnie.

I wish the secondary features of this pedal were easier to see and change. Each knob could have had dual handles - the top of edits the primary function, the bottom edits the secondary. That way both could have had notches to point at where they were set. I love the Strymon but holding down both buttons and tweaking the values - not knowing where each is currently set - is tedious.

my thoughts exactly!!

That's true, it's not the optimal design. But to be fair, the secondary features are not things you typically change very often. I just wish they were labeled!

im curious if you can use an expresion pedal with the secondary controls as well. I'd like to use expression pedal with the boost/cut parameter and use it as a volume pedal.

Let me say this...this dude is knowledgeable, practical and obviously has a great channel. Let me also say that I recognize that the following is my own character flaw and reflects in no way on anyone but me. But why is it that when I see someone playing one of rob chapmans guitars, my brain defaults to “fuck this noise, I’m out”? I don’t know what it is but I see a chapman on my screen and have to restrain myself from going “ok, this is all bullshit...” It doesn’t happen with any other guitar....not even an Ltd or a Squier.

Nice demo. If this unit is hooked up to a monophonic synth, can it turn the mono sound into a stereo sound? Thanks.
@vinniem5656 жыл бұрын
thanks, the pedal is fully stereo capable but if the synth only send a mono signal then you won't be able... you can still have delays that pan left and right, etc, but not total stereo
@Patrick-8573 жыл бұрын
The modulation in all strymon pedals turns mono into stereo. All you have to do is go mono in and stereo out and you have an insanely wide sound. That's why all the ambient guitar guys are so heavily invested into strymon pedals.

Vinnie M well I can't buy for my stereo synth :-(
@vinniem5657 жыл бұрын
oh I get the question now... Apparently you can do stereo in with a TRS adaptor. So stereo left and right into the adaptor then one TRS into the pedal. There's a good explanation on how to do that on the strymon website :)
