Another tip that will help a lot in team games is that you can delete your resigned allies stuff. Many times they disconnect and you can just delete their camps, walls and villagers to steal their gold efficiently.

specifically, you can delete buildings of defeated players if you are allied to them AND they are allied to you. One of the two is not enough.

Watch towers get hill bonus vs other towers, it just has no effect in most cases, because the pierce armour (7) is higher than the attack (5) so the calculation will be roughly Max(1, 1.25*0)=1 - the bonus applies before the minimum damage. However if you are in the very typical situation where the watch tower on the hill has 8 or more attack it matters so a tower with fletching, bodkin and bracer will do 1.25 instead of 1 damage. Edit: Extra arrows however are not affected by the hillbonus indeed.

fletching reduces the extra arrows, garrisoned villagers shoot (you need 5 instead of 4 for max arrows) so it can even be detrimental in some cases.

For tip #9 (boar lure), SoTL found out that the boar will keep chasing you if you are still within "Gaia's line of sight". Gaia is a neutral player that controls wolves/boars/deer and has line of sight on relics (try the cheat code: "natural wonders" to change to gaia in single player)

conscription affects the work rate of several buildings, not the units directly. As such it affects EVERYTHING done in that building. This actually applies to most work rate bonuses (so chivalry will help you researching paladin, for example and huns will research it faster by default). One of the more important effects of this is, that persians advance to the castle- and imperial age faster than other (non-malay) civs. The work speed is preserved upon conversion, btw, so if you manage to convert a fully upgraded goth barracks, you can spam champions like nothing else 11 One very notable exception to this are the aztecs. Their bonus specifically reduces the train time of military units to 90% and does NOT affect upgrades.

For the problem mentioned at tip number 7, a possible solution is to build the gate behind your wall, and only delete (a part of) the wall when it's done. (Takes up a bit of space and makes the wall look less nice, though.)

it is a good idea though as gates are also weak points in your wall (less armor, can be attacked by more melee units: especially champions can easily break gates but struggle against walls). And this way, only a part of the gate is accessible and thus, fewer melee units can attack it at once.

additions: #1 horse colar research time is the same as construction time for a farm with a single villager (with no civ bonuses). This makes timing the farm building relatively easy. #2 normally buildings are invisible and untargetable for enemies until you start building *except* for when they have spies. While this is a rare scenario in PvP I'd though it would be worth pointing out. #9 specifically, if the gaia player loses vision of the unit that the boar is chasing. So the vision ranges of other gaia units like wolves, relics and even birds can prevent the boar from losing aggro. #15 I tried it and it really works! #18 a lot of this was changed on a later patch. However, the mode still affects the viability of many civilizations, mostly benefitting civilizations with a "generic" dark age like vietnamese. #27 in games with more than 2 players, the villagers of defeated enemies are still factored in. Keep that in mind.

Couple follow up questions... towers don't do more damage to another tower if placed higher. What about castle to castle? Also... when you place a gate on top of a palisade wall, you don't get that wood cost refunded correct? Same question with stone walls and gates.

Regarding spies, I try to use it to keep track of the amount of enemy villagers remaining but many times I see that even after killing a whole bunch of enemy villagers the cost stays the same, and it's always under the max cap, I've seen that it costs 6800 gold and after killing 10 vills it still costs 6800, would be pretty unlikeñy that the enemy creates the exact same amount of villagers at the same rate I kill them

Press ALT, right click a gate when your unit is selected, the unit will go there instead of attacking it. It works for any building. You want to sit under a tower with archers instead of attacking it, just press ALT and right click the tower base. Or it works when you want to attack a unit instead of a building. You want to kill villagers repairing a castle? Press alt and right click the villager. That command ignores the building, so you can actually choose the vils instead of the building.

I believe whenever it’s seeded counts as a new farm, so if you have farms down, then get the tech, it will take effect when they re-seed. There’s also timing to think about, I think people say get the tech to 25% then you can seed a farm so by the time you’ve got the tech your villager will then finish seeding so you will have an upgraded farm.

The multi shot bombard tower thing is such a strange and clearly underused mechanic in the game due to how situational it is. I wish they balanced that a little more to create a better incentive for mechanics like this to occur in the game. Even do something with outposts where you can garrison an archer or two and increase it's visual range by +1 or +2
