Thank you for all of these amazing tips! I have a tip to give back to you after your vacuum story, if you've never heard it: if you slip the sock of an old pair of pantyhose (or even an actual thin sock, honestly) over the hose of your vacuum, you'll be able to do a "first pass" and gather up all the tiny beads and earring backs that may have found their way into your carpet! :]

Carol, I loved this video. You honestly have the best tutorials, tips, tricks and suggestions I have come across. When I was just starting out in my jewelry journey 8 months ago I was OVERWELMED. I watched several tutorials by others and just couldn't follow along or grasp the technique. Then thank goodness I came across you!!!! The way you explain things is amazing and so easy to understand. I was about ready to give up on loops. OMG I was pulling my hair out! Then I came across your video on making loops and a couple tries with it on my TV in the background and VOILA!!!! Thank you again for all your help. You are truly appreciated by this Jewelry Junkie from Ohio!❤️

I’ve had crimp tube fail, but I think it was a cheaper/substandard tube. I was also learning, so I’ve discarded the tubes, and I’ve practiced my tube crimping. I also replaced my crimping pliers as I thought the one on wasn’t quite sealing its crimp. Quality supplies are necessary! Going less costly can impact the outcome, I feel. Great video, Carol. One I wish I’d had known much of this last year. Very informative.

I thought I would share with you. My first teacher thought me that when you want to make a loop, but you have a long piece of wire that needs to be cut. To calculate this.eg. if your loop is in the middle of the round nose plier. The amount of wire required is measured from the tip of the pliers to where you want to make the loop. Hope this clear. 😊
@The_Stylish_Maker6 ай бұрын
Thank you Victoria. Do you mean up the pliers? Wouldn't that be different for different pliers because the pliers might be a different angle - in other words, some round nose pliers might be fatter at 5mm from the tip than others.
@floatingisland5446 ай бұрын
Thanks for answering these questions, I learned some new things! I always have a crimp tube fail when I use my magical crimping pliers, no matter how much I squeeze. And I can't get it nice and round either for some reason and I do go all the way around....I sometimes use it for small crimp covers though, it does help me get those nice and round 🤷♀.
@The_Stylish_Maker6 ай бұрын
Thank you for letting me know that. I wonder if it's the crimp tubes. I've found that I prefer a slightly larger crimp tube. Perhaps try that and see if it works. I also sometimes have to squeeze it lots of times, moving it slightly each time. You should be able to feel it squash down.

It’s so funny how individuals are so similar in some ways yet still so different! I would tell everyone who ever asked me to throw the magical crimp tool as far as possible in the nearest large body of water… fortunately, no one ever asks my opinion so I think the company is safe from bankruptcy! 😂 I DO swear by crimping the “old fashioned” way…smash the bead/tube, then turn your “old” crimpers the other way (on the side) to fold the bead/tube over onto itself like a sandwich. I like crimp covers because they’re a great little addition for almost no trouble at all. I have had crimps fail when I was first starting out because I was unfamiliar with the amount of pressure necessary to get the crimp to stay put and hold everything together. I would either not smash it hard enough and it would come loose with the wire or I would smash it too hard and it would actually cut the wire that happened several times right at the beginning. It took a while to get the feel for it for what took the perfect torque amount I guess you would call it. I did try just smashing it flat at first like you said you do, but that’s just because I didn’t finish reading the directions. It was OK like that but what I noticed was one of the necklaces I made. I had a very sharp edge, and that was where the crimp was just really sharp And that is what sent me back to the drawing board to figure out what I did wrong. I suppose it would’ve worked if you had a fairly large crimp cover I didn’t have any that were sizable enough at that time to cover that sharp edge and onto the other side of the other sharp edge. And I like the trifold method. I guess you can call it much better. It worked for me.

"Thank you Shannon. I know lots of people have trouble with the Magical Crimping pliers, that's why I did a video about how to use it properly and what you're doing wrong if it's not working. You can watch that here if you still have an inclination to make it work. kzbin.info/www/bejne/labWfpWmfbWanKssi=aKk0PYwobjVePF0z I hate crimp covers so the idea of not having to use them makes me happy.

Carol, thanks for this! Have you ever used gemstone chips for making necklaces? I use gemstone chips like amethyst chips and coordinating Czech seed beads to make necklaces. How would you use gemstone chips in a necklace?
@The_Stylish_Maker6 ай бұрын
Thank you. No, I haven't used gem stone chips but I did have a necklace that used them. You would just use them like any other bead. Maybe use round beads with them to counteract the angles of the chips.

Carol, in my gemstone necklaces and bracelets, I usually have been using spring (or sometimes called C-clasps). Should I be using something else? And for the matching bracelets, what kind of clasp should I use there as well? Thanks in advance!
@The_Stylish_Maker5 ай бұрын
Do you mean a spring ring clasp? I've never heard of a c clasp before. You can really use any clasp you want for a bracelet and necklace. It also can work well to be integrated into the design.

Thank you so much, Carol! Brilliant video! I'm just wondering which kind of beading wire do you use for very long necklaces (60")? I normally use silk but maybe is there a better option?
@The_Stylish_Maker6 ай бұрын
Thanks Lucy. It really depends on the necklace. I would usually use a piece of Tiger Tail but if the beads are heavy, then I would use a 49 strand Soft Flex or Beadalon like I showed in this video.
@lucybloom47816 ай бұрын
@The_Stylish_Maker I have never thought about it, I normally use 6 mm beads and I thought silk was the only option! Thank you so much Carol, I have some 49 beadalon at home, I'll definitely give it a try, thank you so much! 🙏
