This is a great video for beginners and experienced jewelry creators. The problem I'm having right now is finding a seller who has quality findings. I have a huge supply of jump and split rings that I can't even use in my designs because they turn colors fast.

For a bead stopper, I put an 8 or 10 mm bead on the end on my thread and loop the thread through the bead a few times to keep it locked in.

Yes, you can absolutely do that. I do find the bead stopper easier and quicker to remove but I have definitely done that in the past too.

There is a product called Plasti Dip. You can dip the handles of metal tools in it, let it dry, dip it again, dry and build it up to the thickness you like. Transforms handles to be more comfortable!! Hubs found some old yard nippers, cleaned them up, and dipped the handles. They looked like new!

I prefer making jewelry with a needle and thread, Jill was one of my first teachers! I'm making some stitch markers for my knitting which I just learned to do, that's how I found your channel and you've got a lot of really good info for making this type of jewelry. I have all the stuff, I just struggle with wire wrapping, making loops etc. I also tat with shuttles, embroider and I have been crocheting since I was 7. I recently started bead crochet so I can make those old antique purses, and most of the really pretty ones were knitted, hence why I am learning to knit and I decided to start with lace since that's what I do with shuttles already so it seemed only natural to learn to knit lace. Then I will be able knit those little beaded purses with ease!

Excellent video. I was in the no flat crimp mindset until recently when I had to use a larger size crimp because I was crimping 2 strands of beading wire (so 4 wires going through it). The regular crimping methods were Not holding the wires in place, but when I used the flat crimp method, it held perfectly. Now normally, I use either regular crimping pliers or magic crimping pliers too and will continue to do so, but there is a time and place for flat crimping. A lot of "affordable" jewelry in stores (at least here in the states) seem to do only flat crimping, which really surprised me. I guess it is faster. Anyway, thanks for a great video!

Hello have you ever heard of anyone coating the chain noise pliers? Mine have teeth and a friend corrected me saying they were wrong. But she brought the postable sealing wax that's wound up coating the teeth until I got the other pliers in the mail. It allowed me to make jewelry without damaging the materials I was working with. It's I admit not as good as the ones you got, but helped me in a pinch until the replacements came in.

Ahh!! this is where it began when I found you on You tube(my first bead video!!)) To date on the tools ordered from etsy & amazon...the amazon ones are in; waiting on etsy ones!!👀👀 What number is your Plato pliers?? there are a few on amazon. What if the crimp bead is smaller than the bead opening? I'm thinking of a wooden bead with a 3-4 mm hole. Thank you for sharing all your wisdom!

That's a great question, Penelope. I would use a bead cap on the end of the strand before I put the crimp on. That would cover the hole. If you don't want to do that, you could add a daisy spacer bead or a smaller bead, just to cover it up. That would also stop the crimp cover disappearing into the bead.

Hi I Have A Question Mrs. Carol On Your Memory Wire Cutters How do they Work? I use My Pliers maybe about 3 Times, and They don't work No more.. Is their a Special way??

That's a great question. I used to have a pair that didn't work. What I realised was that the rivet that holds them together was loose and so the jaws weren't closing properly. Could you have someone take a look at this and try and fix it if this is the problem. The only thing I can say is that when using the cutters you need to hold the wire on both sides of the cut quite firmly. They should be incredibly sharp and cut really well. I hope that helps.
